Drop the World - the turning point

Postby EminemInsider » Dec 21st, '12, 05:25

This was the verse where Eminem went from an unstoppable breath of fresh air who had performed a resurrection on himself to produce Relapse and a few post-Relapse releases...to a hoarse-shouting, eighth note and snare drum-humping version that kind of resembled the 2003 Eminem. This was the beginning of the end...the moment where the line began to blur between the version of Ambienem where he was still trying to rap well and fighting through the pill-induced writer's block, and the 2.0 version of sober-Eminem who is obsessed with shitty punchlines and fitting in with the modern pop rappers.

Specifically, the moment in his verse where this happens:

Came up from behind and pretty much snuck up and buttfucked this game up
Better be careful when you bring my name up, fuck this fame that ain't what
I came to claim...

Following this, we got verses that made me wonder if he'd relapsed such as his "Airplanes II" verse (at least in the early part of it that leaked). And then we got Recovery, which had a few good songs amidst his new direction of forced flows and lyrics.

Airplanes and Drop the World were great verses, what crawled up your ass and laid eggs in your lower colon?

It isn't really that...it's just that every time EminemInsider posts anything, it seems as though it has to be overwhelmingly negative. His perspective is usually interesting enough, but he's almost like a constant source of negativity. So eventually, regardless of whether or not he's right, people just get tired of it.

So, that being said...shut the fuck up Blu!

Yeah, nothing like forced lyrics and forced shouting to replace dizzying rhyme schemes and a strong, crisp voice displacing the accent as he moved along.

And fuck all the twats in this thread.....telling me to be positive. How the fuck am I 'posed to be positive when I don't see shit positive? I post about shit around me, shit I see...and right now, I'm tired of everything Eminem is doing. Tired of all these corny punchlines and stupid flows, you know what I'm sayin?
