I already said that I wasn't, but comparing him to Eminem and alluding to the fact that Eyedea could be in the same realm of fame as Eminem is retarded as fuck.

No. No it's not. I dont think you fully comprehend his genius.

Eyedea was saying things at 16 that Eminem wouldn't comprehend.

Lmao. You sound like a Stan defending Eminem.

Intelligence doesn't equate to fame. Neither does talent.

There's no defense needed. You're clearly wrong.

Enlighten us on how to get famous then, please? It isn't the same as it was 12 years ago. Eminem was barely budding when Eyedea was offered his deal with Puffy. So explain to us why the biggest name in freestyle battling at the time, already having seen relative success in the underground, couldn't have gotten famous with millions $$ supporting him?

You clearly havent listened to his older material.

Only like, 5 people in the world have reached Em's level of fame and they are people like Elvis, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and yes.. Marshall Mathers. Eyedea will never and could never reach that level of fame. That's idol status.

There simply is no formula to get famous. To reach that level of fame you have to break any and every mould. Although, even that doesn't ensure fame. Absolutely nothing does.

Nas didn't get famous after dropping Illmatic, which is considered a hip hop masterpiece and was literally a game changer. Just because an artist is talented and creates amazing work doesn't mean he will be famous.
Canibus was buzzing at the same time as Eminem and look at the difference in their career. I don't think anyone in the world would agree with you that Eyedea could be as famous as Eminem if he wanted to.

Anyway that's all I have to say on the issue. If you want to continue to believe that "the biggest name in battle rap" could team up with fucking Diddy and be on the same level of fame as Eminem that's cool. You and the 15 other people who also like Eyedea can fantasize about his name up in lights but I couldn't give two shits.

I agree with SliK.

"Just because an artist is talented and creates amazing work doesn't mean he will be famous."

He is right. Being good, great, talented...whatever, is not enough. You need to be charismatic.

Em can make songs with a message and a meaning that appeal to everybody. You can be an amazing rapper and have songs filled with metaphors, multies and all that, but those songs will only be appreciated by the people that know something about rap. You will be known in underground rap circles. Em is known worldwide, people that don`t even like rap know about him and like his music.

Even people that do everything to get famous, all kinds of pop stars, even they can`t reach Em`s status.

Can't be just me who gets pissed when the bitch in the crowd laughs and talks while he's performing.

If Eyedea accepted the deal, went over mainstream beats and dumbed down his music to appeal then he could have been close to Eminem's level.

Whether he could reach Eminem though is irrelevant. You don't need to reach Eminem's level to be famous. :coffee:

That song sucks.

Mainly 'cause of how repetitive it is. I'd rather hit my head off my desk.

So the one song I say is my least favorite of all time is the only one you listen to and comment on lolz

Class, Diddy is also known to kill carreers. That could also be a reason he declined the deal.
