Illmatic is the only one that suprised me...I mean the fact that they understand it. Chronic and Doggystyle are literally the same shit you hear now, just much better.

or maybe it's because of the media ?
The media don't talk about TMMLP anymore... I mean they always compare new albums with illmatic.
As you said, it might be cool to love that album

according to the rules, I can't insult you of blind stan... Fuck !
calling someone stupid when you actually give only 2 possible reasons to hate on tmmlp :facepalm

Revolutionary wrote:Yeah, that's the reason he sold 100 million records worldwide while neither of them are even half way there.
And how did it age fast if it still sells more than some hip hop albums? It pushes around a thousand copies every week, sometimes even 2 thousand.

I didn't pull out numbers to prove he's better, I pulled them out to prove to you that he's still got a huge fan base.

It's become cool to hate on Em because every person's favorite rapper has Eminem in their top 5.
So fuck what anyone thinks, he's respected by his pears and the public still supports him.

interesting read ! this was the answer I was waiting for...

You talked about sales but justin bieber is one of the biggest seller and he's hated as fuck by a whole community of people.
Look at lil wayne, he's a superstar, one of the biggest sellers but he has been hated as fuck for a few years :y:
It became a tendency to hate on these guys but do you hate on them because you don't like their music or just because it seems cool to hate on them ?
I can understand the hate on wayne (his last albums sucked hard) but I can't understand the idea of hating on someone just because it became a tendency !
Na seriously, there must be a reason :o
The same shit happened to lil wayne... ppl were afraid to talk about him because he was considered as one of the best rappers but this "tendency " offered an opportunity to give an opinion about him.

"every person's favorite rapper has Eminem in their top 5."
we can say the same for other artists such as jay-z, Nas and I don't see that much hate for them

For the sales, I was talking about the US only (10 M copies in 2010 )but I still think that most of these fans have been listening to him since day 1.
I have been a fan since 1999 but I only bought his albums last year.

Nop, Eminem's albums are the only albums I'm tired of except for TES and believe me, I was a fan.
I would have killed for my favorite artist :y:
This is maybe because I listened to these albums 50000x but I did the same for the chronic or other old albums and I'm still not tired of them.

bahh...I still love Eminem, still hyped as fuck for his new album.

wat ? laughed hard when I read your answer in the "Current Celebs Em Would Have Made Fun Of 10+ Years Ago" but that one is funnier Image

the political, economical or even the age factors are important in music... they can have a huge impact on the perception of music :coffee:

Trshady has become one of the only places where I can find "a lot" of respect for Eminem.

There are other forums out there where just as much respect is shown for Em.

You guys are the biggest hypocrites I've ever seen :facepalm2

"Oh, Lil Wayne sold 1 million albums first week? It doesn't matter, album sales don't count he still sucks!"
"Eminem is the best rapper ever cuz he sold 1 million first week hur dur!"

Also, there isn't any blind hate. People respect Eminem, but they feel his recent work isn't showing his true potential, so they learn to move onto other artists. The reason people on KTT "hate" on Eminem is because that forum is full of hipsters that listen to sites like Pitchfork and listen to indie singers like Grimes.

MMLP might be a timeless classic to you, but it's not to everyone else and you have to learn to respect that. And btw, who gives a shit if Eminem is respected by his peers? Chief Keef is probably respected by his friends, but that doesn't make him a good rapper.
