I know, I already said that, but that's only half of the issue. Not being promoted properly doesn't mean putting out music that clearly isn't good.

I mean, Yelawolf has already conceded the fact that he purposely made Radioactive FOR mainstream appeal, which it did have, and ultimately sacrificed his artistic integrity for it. He's learned his lesson, as illustrated in that blurb Rev just posted. But have Slaughterhouse learned? They chose to make those songs, "Park It Sideways" is probably the worst song in their discography and it seemed like all their assets were put on the backburner for this album.

People LOVED them because of what their cypher sounded like, if 10 months didn't pass by and their direction wasn't so drastically different, they would have done way better. Way better. I'm more annoyed with Slaughterhouse than I am with Yelawolf, he's learned his lesson and none of his verses on Radioactive were actually bad - except maybe "Good Girl" - another forced concept.

I'm sorry, didn't know you said that. Well it looks like you just figured out what the problem was, both Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse sacrificed their artistic integrity to go for a more mainstream/appealing sound to a different kind of audience with of course ultimately resulted in the disastrous sales, music quality, etc.

I have a feeling they will be at this year's Cypher, Em's album comes out in the summer, 2-3 months after that Yela will have released his album and Slaughterhouse would be close to being done with their album.

I also don't think Em is gonna be as involved, he'll probably let them do whatever they want and get whoever they want (not go over their budget, though).

About your second point though, Em DID let them do whatever they want and get whoever they want and look what happened lol.

They just gotta realize they've made a silly album themselves then, haha

Well, i feel like the game changed since the cypher!!! Jus thinking about it now but in 2010 it was all about super artists. Kanye, Eminem, Drake, Jay z, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj... the greats were releasing dope music and people were really feeling that music. Over the next year with the emergence of crews and groups people really diversified the way they listened to music. It was up to whatever crew/ group/ affiliation you had to keep hot, stay hot and impact the crowd.

Now, the first mistake Shady 2.0 made was not release music immediately. Kanye is always on the news. Lil Wayne and Rick Ross continually release music. Kendrick Lamar did more collaborations that anyone could think of. Because of that, people like Tyga, Meek Mill, Wale, Gunplay, Ab Soul, Schoolboy Q all came into the game and became hot. Crews released GOOD music (for their respective fanbases), took on huge tours (think Club Paradise) and WORKED Their socks off to compete. Remember the award ceremony by Kanye of how people were pushing him/

Slaughterhouse cypher was dope no doubt and if they released On The House one month after that they could have been "hip-hop" saviour. They waited too long such that by the time their album dropped, Nas had created Life's Good, Kendrick Lamar was being eagerly anticipated and the underground (El-P, Killer Mike, Tech n9ne, Big Boi) were all releasing high quality projects their mission to "save the game" did not seem that much needed anymore.

About the cypher itself, i think Yelawolf was average, so was Joel and Royce (Saved by the Hi Rihanna line which was genius). Crooked I had a killer flow and one of the best lines (big picture). Eminem and Budden killed it.

Both albums flopping I guess was a great thing. Hopefully they now realize that they shouldn't do what everyone else does and instead do what they excel at. That cypher is a classic.
