He doesn't really get love in other forums though. Reviewers like him, but everyone on the comments seem to bash him.

I don't understand the hate man. I thought it was cool to like Hop a year ago then everyone turned into haters, and even started bashing his old work for some reason.

Like I said, if you are referring to KTT and SL, they all follow each other and post senseless things, like they hate a song even when they never heard it.

I only see love on Rapradar, Thisis50, hiphopdx and rap basement for Hop.

Rapbasement is dead. I see a lot of hate on Hiphopdx comments. Same with RapRadar.. And KTT and SL are big communities and they hate on him.

He's obviously not hated everywhere because he has a lot of fans and sold out european shows. But he gets unnecessary hate because of his "corniness" like he's not taken seriously. When they mention upcoming rappers they're all like Bronson, Asap, Badass or Kendrick. But you never see Hop in these lists.

If we're speaking strictly hip-hop forums, then yes Hopsin is hated on. The people liking his Facebook page and going to his shows have probably been with him from the beginning, but that's just a small amount of people compared to the fanbase Kendrick and A$ap Rocky carry. I know a few people that listen to one Hop song and that's Ill Mind 5.

Hopsin could easily break out of the spot he's in and reach a wider audience if he wasn't so fucking...never mind. The motherfucker needs to put out some music though. Anyway, I remember at work, I was hearing high school girls singing the hook to "Sag My Pants". And I'm not even talking about girls that were into hip hop, cute girls that listen to Mumford and Sons and shit. The reason you won't see more people post love for Hopsin on a forum or comment board is because the internet is so polarized: you either love him or hate him.

Out in the real world though, he has fans. That's why he's successful, and members on KTT and SL are still jacking off in their mom's basement, writing hateful comments about someone that has already done what all of them secretly wish they could do. If he's not for you, that's fine, but that level of negativity is more akin to a meme of jealous hate.

It was his most commented news for a solo song and rapradar members usually post several comments with fake accounts (you don't need to log off if you want to change your name)...

No offense but the facebook pages don't mean anything at all because ppl usually like what their friends like (you can share the pages, invite your friends to like it, etc).

Revisiting Class' point.

Another thing we need to remember is that a lot of our members here don't live in the U.S., and unfortunately, a significant portion of the ones that do are idiots. So for many of our members, the only exposure they would have to an artist like Hopsin is on a forum. If it's not a (mostly) positive one like this one, or the FV forums, then it's a (mostly) negative one like KTT or SL. Beyond forums, it'll be the blogs which are filled with assholes in the comment section.

So it makes sense that their viewpoint would be limited, and that's totally fine. This isn't one of my American superiority posts that I'm so fond of making, I promise. The people that are most likely to know how Hopsin is actually being received in the real world? College kids.

I'll take Class' word for it, and I think the fact that Hopsin can make a living touring as an independent artist with little to no mainstream exposure illustrates the fact that the man has enough fans to sustain him, even if a forum like this were to disappear tomorrow.
