Rhyming on "Just Lose It"

Postby EminemBase » Jan 24th, '13, 18:45

Wow just listening to this randomly to hear how bad it is lmao and, his rhyming even sucks dick on it. His flow and delivery are actually alright, but there's barely any multis, just really stupid lyrics and like one word rhymes a lot... I'm not a multi freak (although I do love very technical rap, but needs to be a marriage of course) ; but I've never really heard Em not do it before, he seemed to just do it automatically with phrases even in shit periods (05/06/07), surprising to hear him rhyme like 50 Cent would here, never really noticed it before.

I also can't believe how he could put this out like, I know it's intentionally stupid but, to just not take his career or image seriously AT ALL to the point where you become a pure caricature of yourself, basically making a parody of your own parody songs. So weird as well to care SO much with The Eminem Show and 8 Mile and then like a year / two years later be doing this...

I'm always kinda fearing a decline or loss of care for the art again now, hopefully that decline was a one off and he remains fully focused now. Because he basically remained awesome for 99, 00, 01, 02 and 03, then 04, 05, 06 all pretty much sucked ass, with the odd gems...

I'd say he's been great-awesome (a lot of brilliant and classic material / consistency) in 09, 010 and 11 now, counting Relapse, Recovery and HTS... hopefully his next one will be his peak of everything he's learned and crafted since his comeback. Come on Em, make a fucking classic!

In what way?

His flow is great, he's rhyming very well, his punchlines are much better than 2 years ago...

You know where Encore lead Eminem, right? His LATEST work maybe be good technically, but content wise it's the same goofy shit he did on Encore. That's all I'm saying.

I'm talking about Post Recovery era(Mainly 2011-12).

I honestly don't think JLI is that bad. It's better than songs like My First Single, Big Weenie, and Fack, IMO.

Hmm, I wouldn't agree though...

I think he has subversive ideas, rebellion and genuine wit again; I think the songs he's appeared on are pretty crappy, but his actual verses ("Richard", "C'mon Let Me Ride" etc.) I think are good...

"Bout to get my Ike on; icon with a life supPLY, of wife beaters, and my nike's on!"

< I think that's pretty vintage and sharp, not goofy.

He never lost his wit. Few lines doesn't satisfy me and I won't place them in the category of good songs. I need more than that. Indeed, those lines are fucking awesome and I personally like them very much, but that doesn't cover the holes that is clearly evident and down plays the song.

Yeah but those songs aren't his...

If you look at his solo songs, which ones have been on that level? aka bad?

Basically all of Recovery is the shit...

So if he didn't produce or conceive those songs you're talking about, how can you say HE is on a slope, his performances on them are still great. And he very much did lose his wit; on Encore he was lacking in wit which is why he resorted to being silly, and he didn't really regain it until recently... he was eloquent in 09, but still sometimes stupid, and there were flashes of wit, but I'd say only recently do we see real flashes of genuine wit again, and not noises or puns.

True.

The Eminem I know never cared who's song he's on. He'd straight away just kill it. He was doing that even after his comeback. 'Forever' , 'Drop The World'& 'No Love' proves it. Oh, man, did he kill it on 'Forever'. After that I don't see that happening. 'Throw It Up' was a huge let down, so was 'Richard', sorry. Look at it comparatively, they don't even stand at the same level. Surely a line here and there were good, but nothing more than that.

He might have purposely slacked on Numb and CLMR, but yet again..... he shouldn't have done that. Maybe he isn't comfortable doing such appearances on Pop Songs.

I'm not talking about his Solo. He hasn't dropped anything Solo after Recovery, I think. Recovery is like K2 at times.

About Encore it was his involvement in drugs that made it hard for him toconcentrate on what he was doing. If it hadn't been for that, it could have been a solid Album. Only 'HCTW' & the Chyper reminds me of his older self.

^ I'd agree with "Throw It Up" being disappointing if only for the fact that... you would expect a real 'meeting of the minds' as a collaboration from there, where as we just got a totally pointless verse that could have been on any one of his recent features, a completely meaningless song.

I think his "Numb", "C'Mon Let Me Ride" and "Richard" (especially) verses are all great though. His Cypher is the best though, his phrasing and tone is really at a fantastic level on that 'you see these horns?', has a real vintage vibe, with new delivery and passion, I hope his new stuff is like that.

It was hard to swallow his Cypher verse, it was sooooo Shady material. It actually put my hopes to a higher step. Yes, his phrasing was commendable and sharp. Hell, I can't wait to see if he does the same justice to his Album too.

He could have made a better verse just to help boost sales for Yela. But knowing now that he was intending to be on that song and sent his verse in the last minute, I can't blame him 100%. But still, he's, you know, Eminem.
