Hmm, not even trying to seem like a Stan here, but I don't quite agree.
Explain?
Plus, Big Pun should be higher, imo

My post was to show how unreasonable the list is. How can someone who had someone else write their lyrics (Lil Kim) be better than the guy behind F&L. How can All Eyez on Me be considered more "lyrical" than The Eminem Show? How can Lauren hill who sang more than she rapped be better than Andre the GOAT? It just cant be.

Oh, I hear ya. Preach :b:

My opinion:

1. AZ and Masta Ace should have been in here. More Wu Tang members, especially Chef Rae needed to be in there.

2. Eminem's def top-10 material. I don't know about 1. Eminem just hasn't had enough consistency in his career. Then again, did Rakim make anything mindblowing after 1992?

3. Eminem is a better lyricist than Tupac. Tupac's lyrics were more about message than story-telling. He was never good at the technical aspect of rhyming and his flow was cliche. But his delivery was second to none.

4. 50 Cent is at 50. He could have been left out if better rappers were added, but in the end, it's not criminal to include him at a low rank in the top 50. I just think 50 Cent was more about the image than the music. He was young, attractive, had a great body and the ladies like him, so he topped the charts.

It depends though. Pac's music was mixed. He had some really strong songs, but a lot of material that wasn't up to par. That describes most rappers, yes, but not the standard of someone who is often claimed to be the best of all time

 @ 50 even in top 100.

Anyway, I think it's ridiculous to place LL Cool J higher than Pharoahe Monch and Mos Def... it's just about what he achieved and the fact he was a pioneer... but that list is supposed to be top lyricists. Regardless of what they've done. And LL Cool J is not a better lyricist than Mos Def.

Yes. Problem. Eminem is easily top 3 and gets shafted all the time. And no, I'm not a "white boy".

he gets shafted all the time because everybody doesn't agree with your opinion

If they wanna be honest as a lyricist no.

Goat status top 5 on every list.

As a lyricist EM is top 3 for sure.

For sure ? it's still your opinion.
I personally think that technically, Eminem is one of the best but lyrically, I really think he doesn't deserve the top 3.

No need to fight for that ahah, it's all about opinions and that's why Em gets shafted all the time

This is a good list but I will still never understand how people will think Jay-Z is a better lyricist than Eminem.

@bigray - Eminem. His style is much more varied and he actually rhymes a hell of a whole better than Pac did.

Kill You:
Because Jay Z didnt make songs like Big Weenie. I guess the word for that would be consistency.
