Of course Kendrick will inspire the newer dudes and show them u dont need to sell out or have pop crap on ur album in order to sell or even take the money route and rap about how much money u got or how many bitches u got.

Can you give me the name of a recent uncompromised hip hop album that had success on the mainstream scene ?
Of course artists like Eminem, jay-z, ... did it a decade ago but they don't do it anymore. (not saying they can't but still, they're releasing albums with pop chorus on some of their songs)
And if you look carefully at Eminem's singles, Most of his recent successful singles have pop stars on the chorus. (LTWYL, Lighters, 50 cent - My Life,...)
The artists like Game, 50, and a lot of other artists aren't doing good on the mainstream scene anymore and artists like Nas don't go mainstream.

and btw, We're talking about the same actors in the industry (critics,magazines, newspapers, artists,fans...) that considered TMMLP as a classic so I don't really know why you think these arguments are mine =p

And what does this have to do with influencing Eminem? none of those were lead singles of any of his albums and My Life isn't Em's song.

I still don't know why you keep saying Kendrick is a big change in the game when Em already did it more than a decade ago.

None of those were his lead singles ? well, you're right but the lead single of HTS failed (and lighter was the most successful single of the EP), Love the way you lie was the most successful single of Recovery and I remember that lot of you talked shit about Not afraid ( the lead single of Recovery) because of the singing.

And by the way, fans considered this album as an instant classic and not as a game changer (it was pretty clear the album could influence other artists) , Critics/magazine/newspapers and some artists considered the album as a game changer and claimed that this kind of concept hasn't even been attempted by rap's top storytellers like Slick Rick, the Notorious B.I.G. or Ghostface Killah.
I agree that we should wait a few years to see the real influence of the albums dropped in 2012 but we're talking about the same actors in the industry that considered TMMLP as a classic a few months after its release so I don't rly know why you think these arguments come from me

If gkmc is compared to illmatic by some artists and critics, it's not to say which album is better, it's just to prove that they both play a great role in the time period that they were release.
