critics praised take care in 2011 man, some critics even called Take Care "Rap's Current Center Of Gravity"

And to be fair, Take care has a score of 78/100 on metacritic and Life Is Good has 81/100

bigray wrote:Ok, ur not a fan of Drake so what is the point of you replying than.

The point is clear lol, saying that only a few few internet bloggers praised this album is wrong

Life Is Good is a better Rap album than Take Care.

Now we can just stop the debate.

the thing is; we can stop the debate but not because Life is good is a better rap album, we're going to stop it only because we don't know which album is better because everyone has different opinions (and I'm pretty sure that nobody here knows how to define "hip hop") and because we don't know how the grammy awards work

Well then why do you laugh at people when they say F&L or The Cool > GKMC, if everyone has their opinion, there would be no debate and people would just agree on everything which is boring.

?
no.

I just answered to what you said and if you were talking about the very first pages, you can notice that I didn't want to talk anymore because you were acting like a hater.
Menzo came in and asked you and the others to calm down and then the conversation started again with trimss :coffee:

we talked about it yesterday, it was calm and cool but IamAnoob and me laughed at painkiller (first page) because he ALWAYS trolls about Kendrick and at the end of the day, you realize that he just hates the hype kendrick is getting.
It's always cool to talk with you because we don't have the same musical tastes but talking with someone insulting the artists he doesn't like is really impossible (you have to shut up or to troll just like him lol)

Life Is Good is Nas using the same boring flow and delivery he did 14 years ago. I like Life Is Good, I think it's a good album, but I'm sure most of you think it's better than Take Care because of the ARTIST, not the ALBUM itself.

Take Care has Drake experimenting. Just because he's bringing out his R&B side and singing a few notes during a song doesn't make him any less of a rapper than when Em SUNG the first two verses of Hailie's Song.

Take Care deserved the Grammy. Get over it.

:confusion: Same boring flow.. Nas is the rapper Drake will never be. Actually, Drake will never be half as good or get half the respect that Nas gets.

Drake's fans are 16 years old suburban white kids who just got into Hip Hop and think he's the shit. Now I don't hate him, and I don't hate the album which was pretty good, but then again as a rap album Life Is Good was a LOT better.

Solace wrote:I think Master Chief once dissected the album to prove it's deserving of being called rap rather than R&B as over half of it is rapped.

dissect it all you want i would still say that there were better rap albums in 2012.

Blu wrote:Just because he's bringing out his R&B side and singing a few notes during a song doesn't make him any less of a rapper than when Em SUNG the first two verses of Hailie's Song.

All Stannery aside you almost cannot argue that Eminem is not a rapper (he sings in a song. Great.). It is quite easy to say that about Drake however...
Have you heard Eminem's music?
Have you heard Drake's?

I understand people saying that Drake is a rapper but i would say that his lyrical skill isnt comparable to that of some of the more.... distinguished rappers around. Kendrick and Lupe being fine examples of this. And when lyrical skill is put to one side and the beats etc become more important, youre in r&b territory. Sure Drake raps, and yes he is good but i think that his album would be better suited to other 'categories'.
