Blu wrote:Dr. Dre spit that line, "I don't smoke weed or cess, cuz it's know to give a brother brain damage" back in '88, when he didn't smoke. Dre was around Snoop Dogg all the time during The Chronic, of course he smoked weed with him.

Personal attack in absence of any substantive arguments. But there are bold letters, so that makes up for it.

The 2 are not comparable.

I swear, everytime people compare GKMC to a classic album like the Chronic or Illmatic it makes me dislike the album.
GKMC is quickly becoming one of the most overrated hip-hop albums of all time, and that's just sad as it is actually a great piece of work, but the comparisons have to stop.
As solid as GKMC, it is not a game-changer by any means. It's just a really good rap album.

You do realize that not only internet bloggers call GKMC a classic ?
You do realize that there is a world outside of the Internet ?
Every time you have to give an argument, you talk about the internet bloggers lol.
A lot of artists, actors, fans, newspapers/journalists, tv shows etc, are calling this album an instant classic.
You don't agree ?. that's fine, but let's stop with the "internet bloggers" argument lol, pretty sure you said the same thing for drake when he won the grammy award for the raoty
btw, I voted The Chronic by mistake, didn't even want to vote <.<Aone10 wrote:Stop...just stop![]()

People are calling it a game changer because it has the potential to change the actual mainstream hip hop (and the album has already changed it imo)
His fans didn't call it a classic, we agreed to wait a few years because it has the potential to become a classic but it isn't one yet.
If anything, you have to blame the industry because a part of it have been calling it an instant classic since the day of its release and to be fair, the same thing happened to a lot of albums.
Some people here like bigray don't like the hype kendrick is getting but that's not a problem (you can notice that the guys complaining about his hype are the same few guys that have been complaining about it since the begining), kendrick will have a few haters but everybody doesn't like Tupac, Nas, Jay, Eminem or other artists, everybody doesnt consider them as the best...
He's building his own legacy in the industry and that's really cool to see someone as young as him being a contestant for the torch.
Isn't that exactly what you do? you come into every single thread and say "people" are calling it and instant classic, "people" are calling it a game changer, what people ffs? because you're literally the only person on this forum calling it that.
InsaneTRex94 wrote:I consider Good Kid Maad City a classic...but by no stretch of the imagination will it be as much of a game changer as The Chronic was. At least in my opinion. We need to wait a few more years before we can tell.
Aone10 wrote:GKMC will not change mainstream hip-hop. Lupe couldn't do it and neither will Kendrick. I just hope h doesn't conform.
Aone10 wrote:Some of you have pointed out that the poll is opinion based and is asking which one you think is a better album....
You have a right to chose GKMC, I just don't think it's as good as The Chronic. The only thing that stands out from Kendrick's album in comparison to the Chronic is that Kendrick is clearly a better lyricist than Dre. However, Dr. Dre's album excels in every other aspect. It's just perfect.
