"A plaque and platinum status is wack if I'm not the baddest" - The desire to be the baddest is now gone.

I think you can divide Em into his different album style, for example you cannot say MMLP Eminem is the same as Relapse Eminem, but then again MMLP and TES Eminems were different, it isnt old vs new its each individual album. His music has been growing in the same way he has throughout his career.

It has nothing to do with his look really, it's his manner and music that has changed. It just so happens that as soon as his look changed so did he as a person and a musician.
But what am I gonna do when the rage is gone and the lights go out in that trailer park?

No it's not :confusion:

I dunno why people say things like this and the 'hunger' being gone...

REALLY? Did you listen to anything on Relapse or Recovery? lmao...

How is he not hungry when he's trying to push the boundaries of rhyme and flow to fucking insane levels on Relapse, and trying to do nothing but cause sick and vile offence...

Then on "Recovery" with shit like "Almost Famous" :confusion: , he's begging for you to be offended. Just because people ain't doesn't mean his desire is gone, he's angry and passionate as fuck.

Like, prior to 8-Mile Em was pretty much the same. That's like "Eminem Classic" or something. It's how he debut, and he stayed like that until around 2003-ish. Then you get into "Gangster Em", which sort of morphed into "Pill-Zombie Eminem" around Re-Up. Then he vanished, and came back as the current Eminem that just seems like a regular guy.

Hm not really...

"My Name Is" Em is worlds apart from "The Way I Am" Em...

Which is worlds apart again from "Sing for the Moment" or "Without Me" Em...

Again from "Crazy In Love", to "3am", to "Not Afraid".

He's massively different in sound and style on every album.

Good and interesting topic I agree with insane Trex I it's a lack of transition that causes the devide. "Old em" was a guy whos life was on display who got into fueds and who was fearless. Now he's a recluse who's done with beefs apparently has no love life and seems to give a fuck about his image. People change gradually in five years but we never saw that. i also disagree with the writting thing I think it's more an inspiration thing. When I hear some of his old personal stuff I get a real sense this is a man's life spiralling out of control and that those were his thoughts at the time. He used to feed of the personal and controversies of his life but now if it aint a serial killing or hoe hating song its a reflective song... the guy along with his life changed and the hiatus for the most part helped make it standout more
there are no actions just reactions
