kendrick had the most acclaimed hip hop album since 2k10, biggest hype this year, praised as fuck, big sales numbers, his album was #1 on almost every end-year list and hip hop heads fuck with him and he won Lyricist of the year @ bet.

Drake went 2x plat with take care this year, won grammy award for RAOTY, made at least 10 hits this year and his concerts were amazing Mtv said a few days ago that they "don't like" to put a new rapper #1 .
