I really can't see Nas being #1 because MTV wants the "hottest" MC of the moment but if nas was really #1... then I wouldn't be mad, a top 4 is already great for new MCs like Kendrick & Macklemore

Same in Europe, kendrick has been covering a lot of newspapers' frontpages since the beginning of european tour, that's impressive.

imo, drake deserved to be 4 or 3 because the songs he released in 2012 were all hits.
On the other hand, I realized that A$ap didn't do anything... I mean, he didn't sell more than 300K with his album and his only Hit had Drake and Kendrick on it.

Kendrick had the most acclaimed album, the best selling album, his hype was huge and the man stayed in the top 20 of the hot 100 for several weeks with a solo song.

imo, the only competition kendrick had was Drake but he is #5 on the list
For some reason, I can see macklemore in the top 3 with 2 Chainz, I would give the 4th spot to Nas or Rick Ross but I wouldn't be surprised if they put Jay-z in the top 4 instead of one of them because he has always been on MTV's lists:
