Patiently waiting for the full song to be released :snack:

You apparently thought Jay's verse was better than Kendrick's first not long ago.....

Please tell me all about how the HQ version made the difference :coffee:

this is exactly what I said 5 minutes ago.

"kendrick's second verse > Jay >/= kendrick's first verse."

imo, Jay-z's verse is as good as kendrick's first verse but kendrick's 2nd verse >>>>

was just saying that for me, kendrick's 2nd verse was miles better than the 2 other verses, it was enough for me to say that kendrick killed him =p

btw, the hottest lines weren't even Jay's lines

On paper, Kendrick's verses look better (though I must admit that Kendrick's 2nd verse is creeping up on me), but Jay-Z SOUNDS dope.

Kendrick takes it with the lyrics hands down but Jay-Z excels everywhere else and still managed to have good lyrics.

yeah, Jay-z sounds dope, that's why I couldn't really say if his verse was better than Kendrick's first verse because kendrick was better lyrically.
But imo, kendrick's second verse is amazing and better at everything else (technically & lyrically better than Jay's verse and his flow is dope as fuck) and his verse fits the beat perfectly Image

We won't agree on this one I guess but at least, we agree that both of them went in =p

How is that stupid

"Leader of the new school
On my toes like a ballerina
Who knew I'd be the black swan"

A lot of artists consider him as the leader of the new generation and he just said that it took him a lot of time perfecting his craft, just like Black Swan. (had to go on google because I didn't get the meaning of Black Swan :slut: )
He explained that he came out of nowhere and that fits perfectly with the "16 part" tbh

Black Swan is also a movie, so I perfectly understood the reference but it was stupid.. That whole punchline is kinda gay lol. And the shit/fart/urinals part is honestly stupid too.

"Told ***** when I was 16 that I'd write a 16
To put a ***** right on the big screen
In the paddy wagon at 16"

This part is wack.. Sounds kinda amateur-ish?

I know his story ya bish. But the writing sounds lazy. Meh. I liked his first verse and Jay's verse more.

thought the shit/fart/urinals part was cool tbh. (except maybe for the fart part)

It reminds me of something that Wayne could have said in 2005-2007

But if you really think that it sounded amateur-ish, then what about that :

jay: "President Carter, name one nigga out there harder than him
I'll wait
? weight like 20 years straight
I've been on my vibe like 20 years straight
Don't fuck up my high, don't fuck up my high
Nights like this, I don't fuck up the pies
Still keep straight and still be straight"

This is something that I could have written myself

The big screen is also a term used to describe movie theatre screens...

Is there a movie Kendrick is in that I missed?

there was just a reference to the film : “Black Swan” in which the main character is a ballerina :sweating:

World in my palms
Ironically, I am the Ghost Rider's ? ?

As he always said in interview, he spent a lot of time perfecting his craft, people told him that he was good but he couldn't become more popular because the music industry is a "bitch"
He is now a star, the hottest mc of the moment, everybody wants to work with him and his album is praised as fuck (he really has the world in his palms) and he really came out of nowhere. (ghost rider)
In fact, journalists keep saying that his success couldn't have been predicted because he is a lyricist. (this is exactly what MTV said last week)
It fits with the "16 part" because kendrick always said that he would become one of the best and that he would win the grammy award with first studio album.

The pen part is a metaphor to say how dope his lyrics are and how helpful they are for some people :y:

btw, some people think that "world in my palms" is also a reference to jay-z
Jay-z only work with the hottest MC.... he only works with the hottest rappers of the moment.

Eminem when he was the best rapper back in the days
Lil wayne when he was praised as the best rapper alive
Drake when he was the hottest rapper in 2009
Kanye West
Rick Ross when he was called the hottest MC by MTV.

- Shit/urinal/fart references
- weird ballerina punchline
- weak rhyming

sure it sounds better when you hear it but it's still subpar imo.

what you said about the references are just your opinion

but you can't say it's wack and then say that jay-z had a cool verse when everybody could have written his lyrics

"jay: "President Carter, name one ***** out there harder than him
I'll wait
? weight like 20 years straight
I've been on my vibe like 20 years straight
Don't fuck up my high, don't fuck up my high

only the flow was good tbh
