Jay's verse was cooler because of his flow, but overall, K.dot's first verse is better. However that last verse is pretty shit/fart/urinal if you ask me.

And Jay has been dropping sub par shit recently, so it's a little better by his recent standards. However Kendrick is dope af and this verse isn't.

Lil wayne had some of the best punchlines ever imo, he is trash now but his punchlines used to be amazing (not all of them ofc)

I don't know about amazing....

Imo, they were amazing, but we can't really deny the fact that he was considered as a great mc back in the days and it had everything to do with his metaphors/punchlines

Btw, in case some of you didn't get it, kendrick and jay's verses fit well together.
They were challenging each other, it was like a "friendly" competition.
Pretty sure he did the same with Biggie back in the days.

As he said in his first verse, Kendrick's intention is to become the best in the game and Jay just said at the end of his verse that even if kendrick was great, even if he released a great album, he is still #1 ("Kill my vibe, that shit's a walkin' funeral")
Then kendrick started his second verse with "But you ain't you and me, turn eulogy to urinals" (this is exactly what Jay-z did at the end of his verse)

As for the "16 part" of kendrick, it's a reference to the "20 straight" part of Jay-Z.
Jay-z explained that he has been on the top of the game for 20 years and kendrick explained that he is becoming the best.
You have to keep in mind that kendrick got dropped from def jam because jayz left the label back then and he was 16

President Carter, name one nigga out there harder than him
I'll wait, I've been on my weight like 20 years straight
I've been on my vibe like 20 years straight

Told niggas when I was 16 that I'd write a 16
To put a nigga right on the big screen
In the paddy wagon at 16

Kendrick discribes himself as a "ghost rider" and he is right ! Journalists keep saying that his success couldn't have been predicted because he is a lyricist. (this is exactly what MTV said last week)
It fits with the "16 part" because kendrick always said that he would become one of the best and that he would win the grammy award with his first studio album.

"To put a nigga right on the big screen" > Jay-z is remixing the song of a young MC because he wants to stay relevant.
Some people also think that the lyrics "World in my palms" are a reference to the fact that Jay Z is such a bandwagon because he always work with the hottest MCs of the moment.
He worked with Rick Ross because he was the Hottest MC (MTV), he worked With Eminem 10 years ago because he was the best rapper alive, he worked with Wayne in 2007 because he was considered as the new best rapper, he worked with Kanye West...

It's like kendrick wanted to say : " I can do what you do but I do it with a better flow... I got dropped from your label at 16 because you left us but look at me now, I put you on the big screen again because I'm the hottest MC right now".

that's why kendrick's second verse is very different from his 1st one
