Theory on Em's New Album

I'm throwing this out there just for fun. Nothing too profound.

But his albums tended to be in pairs.

Slim Shady LP - Putting on a light-hearted persona for the public
Marshall Mathers LP - Darker, drawing a distinction between his persona and his real self
Eminem Show - An introspective display of his life, at times angry and intense
Encore - abandons controversy for fun, but overall a more natural calm laid back view of his life
Relapse - his descent into bad habits (a return of his dark persona)
Recovery - a personal transformation (a showing of his real self)

Basically, each sequel is a more mature perspective of who he really is. I do think Encore is a more mature version of TES (even if it has tracks like Rain Man), but that's another topic of debate.

So I suspect that his new album could be a sequel to Infinite. Full circle.

Or, if it's a completely new concept, the album after that will likely be a sequel to this year's.

you know what....."i had a dream about the album last night and..." i understand the hype, and the fun in speculating on the new album. but jeez (and I'm not picking on you OP) what is up with all these nonsense threads. To be honest a somewhat 'sequel' album to Infinite sounds awesome.

I don't personally think it would be that... and I hope he abandons the life themes to be honest. Each of his albums focus on his life, although on the first three you had plenty of creativity and storytelling and politics... so he has written about lots of other things...

But, I think he writes himself into a corner when he makes it all about him, and it becomes stale, like it did with Encore, as he feels he has to write the next chapter and if his last chapter was pretty much up to date; he's forced to reminisce or force material out of shit long ago, and it feels... well, forced.

Recovery is literally up to date, and I really don't think there's much else he could say about fame, the drugs, and his past... I really hope Recovery marks the end to that trend.

And, because he's dedicated so much material to himself - that kind of frees him up, as he can write about ANYTHING else now and it'll feel fresh as hell. He needs to look outwards more.

I dont see it relating to infinite in any way. Its gonna be something new, aspects from recovery and BME:HTS thrown in but a new idea.

Someone suggested the album be called "8" which is symbolic to infinity and also his eighth album...it's pretty awesome.

Would be cool, doesnt sound like the sort of name he would come up with though.

Which doesn't really work as implies he's finite, but, sounds better.
