This is correct. Though this is usually what studios do wrong, after watching the first 30 minutes there is certainly enough CGI that they will be able to make it look good if they try. After hearing the president of Paramount Pictures talk, then hearing the film's producer (and one of the bosses of the production company "Bad Robot") they are taking their 3D much further than most studios dare to go.
