Me too, the rhymes were still dope.

It is HIGHLY exaggerated how "bad" the album was. The rhymes were still lightyears ahead of 90% of the rap game. I think we have begun to take the caliber of their rhymes for granted.

Unfortunately for SH rhyming alone isn't what makes a good song, nor a good album.

@Hesky Crooked was doing his usual gay rapid fire multies (My Life for example.. "On ounces-of-pills, how-does-it-feel to count-dollar-bills you found-off-of-skill"). There is certainly enough of that to safely say the rhyming is beyond any mainstream rap album but it was still shitty.

I do love 4 songs (Get Up Flip a Bird Hammer Dance and Goodbye even tho it's kinda cheesy) the rest of the songs are forgettable.

Sick sick dreams of picnic scenes 2 kids sixteen with m16s... Stop complaining about "strings of multis".

Lol @comparing it to Eminem's lines. Royce's rhyming is poor on that song, and the whole song is like shit in your ears.

I admit I liked the album because of the hype, to be quite honest. But seriously, it lacks replay value and in the long run it's pretty bad. Only 3/4 songs stood out.

Wasn't slept on Crook, it was deservedly shrugged off as a confused, misguided, mundane and compromised batch of poop.

Stop trying to duplicate trends 'in your own way' and picking 'hot beats' and pretentious hooks, and actually try to make something worthwhile and maybe it won't get 'slept on'.

Yeah; saying that it's still lyrically better than 90% of the mainstream still doesn't mean it's of high quality.

Don't forget to mention that even though he's firing off "gay" rapid multis.. they still make sense in the context of the song. It's not just a jumble of bullshit that rhymes.

who cares about the rhymes ? Tupac didn't use complex rhymes and most of his albums were amazing.
Music is art and hip hop is art.

Most people don't understand that there's a big difference between your personal tastes and being objective. You can't say that Welcome to our house was amazing just because you enjoyed it.
When you review an album, you have to be objective and talk about criterias (production, lyrics, originality, structure, complexity and so on )

As Eminembase said: "Wasn't slept on Crook, it was deservedly shrugged off as a confused, misguided, mundane and compromised batch of poop."

Actually, most of the time it is. I used My Life as an example because its one of the few times he makes actual sense. Or he'll make sense but hell take 2 full bars to say something that could be easily said in half a bar. It's bad writing.

Assuming this is true, does it matter? Should we applaud him because he makes sense, something that should be expected of him regardless?

Crooked is much better than bizarre!

"... You've got incredible skills/
I want brain, you want shoes.. Love is always head over heels"

That line is better than anything bizarre has given us.

SliK made it seem like he was just spouting off shit that rhymed for no reason... but it all made sense. I don't see why those were rapid fire gay multis lmfao

Like I already said, I used those multis because they did actually make sense. He's got a lot of shitty rhyming, like on Monsters In My Head:

What if I told you I wake up screamin and swingin, dreamin that I'm fightin demons
Dreamin I'm swingin on heathens, competin and schemin
to eat every piece of my peace when I'm sleepin, need a priest and a deacon
I'm speakin to preachers, tell 'em I'm only at peace when I'm drinkin
I'm sinkin deep into hell thinkin I'm fiendin for freedom
Cause bein in a well isn't good for my well-bein
q

He repeats almost every rhyme a least once and ends it with a really shitty punchline.
