Eh, I would toss the AVB. Seems like you would have to use quite a bit of it to get anything out of it, since the THC has mostly left the plant material behind. Still, I get why you want to use it, if you can.
As far as microwaving goes...you can do it, but I don't know if you should do it. It's best to cook things like that slow, to allow the THC to absorb into your fat-based solvent. Butter, milk, whatever. Anyway, the problem with the microwave, aside from uneven heating, is that it doesn't do well with long heat times. You might end up vaping or otherwise removing the THC in a way you weren't planning.
Also, if smell is your concern, the smell will still be an issue with the microwave. It's not quite as prevalent, but it's there for sure. If you want to try it out on a small scale just to be sure, grab some cheese and crackers, lay the cheese over the ABV on the crackers and heat them in one minute bursts for about 5-10 minutes. See what you get out of it.
