I'd really like to know if he wrote sober or high during MMLP and TES. It seems like he was sober during TES, considering he was nearing 30, and the album seems to have the least amount of drug references.

I'm almost certain he recorded high for both MMLP and TES though.

He was on probation while making TES, so he was clean. They had him peeing into a cup regularly.

And drug references have nothing to do with whether or not he's sober. He made more drug references on Relapse than any other album.

I'm 99% sure he said he wrote the SSLP sober but recorded it on ecstasy.

No. He said he and Dre once popped a couple ecstasy tablets in the studio and experimented with recording shit, then when they sobered up, they listened to what they'd recorded and went, "WTF?"

Yeah you're absolutely right, Eminem's single mother certainly couldn't afford any kind of drugs when she was raising 2 children.. Oh wait, yes she could. Drugs are cheap as shit. For $20 he could easily get any drugs he wanted. Not to mention the ones he stole from his mother. And to suggest poor people manage their money correctly (ie spend it all on appropriate food, clothes, diapers, etc) is pretty naive (or ignorant). They obviously don't manage their money well- that's why they are poor.

I'm far from a regular drug user, but everything I've ever done has been provided free from friends. Weed can be real cheap, as are pills, and a 40 is like $1.50.
