No no no, you have to burn the maple tree's. We burn maple leaves all the time, they're a pain in the ass and it's part of our borderline redneck heritage.
If you really want to mess with the Canadians, you make a cross out of a syrup producing maple tree, and burn it in the lawn. Burning the leaves is just doing our chores for us.
