he used to execute this back in his prime. instead of rapping to the listener he'd just talk to them like it was a casual conversation. for example:

listener: "what'd you do today Em?"
Em: "Well, I met a retarded kid named Greg with a wooden leg, snatched it off and beat him over the head with the peg…"

listener: "you wanted to ask me something Marsh?"
Em: "well...to make a long story short...I...broke the rubber, busted a nut up in your mother, so how you feel about havin’ another little brother?"

nowadays it feels like hes making generic rap songs. 16 bars - hook - 16 bars - hook. his prime was so great because it really felt like he was talking to you.

i understand those are freestyles lol. and i understand hes always had 16 bars - hook -16 bars but im saying in his prime he made it seem like he WASNT using that formula.

On Fire got that talking flow.. its why i like it.

nigga what are you talking about. where did i say in my OP that he doesnt do the talking flow anymore? I just said nowadays it feels like its just the generic formula.

i never said "he doesnt use the talking flow anymore." i wouldnt consider the cypher him using the talking flow because his shouting delivery disrupts everything. On Fire is the only song that i would consider from his prime that has the talking flow.

I think since 2009 when he made Relapse up to now his flow doesn't sound as natural, smooth, organic as it used to. In his recent features especially it just seem's forced of course there is exceptions like on So Bad, Going Through Changes, Deja Vu etc it was natural. His choppy flow and when he rhymes fast is the worst imo. But when his flow is natural it is great.
