Are you doing any cardio to actually trim down on fat? If not, the muscle is probably pushing any of the fat you have forward.

Im not a scientist, and I'm drunk.

I was thinking that that might be the reason but there's no weight gain so am I burning fat or turning it into muscle (glycogen)? I'm confused as to how would I build muscle if I don't gain weight

Dunno. Maybe you have a tape worm and it's making you bloated.

I would imagine push-ups are doing more for your chest than your stomach. Are you doing sit-ups too?

I would either do slow cardio, like walking up hills and shit if you want to build muscle and trim fat or just go for massive runs if you want to strip fat completely. Running will actually harden your stomach muscles too.

Depending on your diet, you could be building muscle in your chest and stomach but losing fat from all over which is equalling out the muscle gain and fat loss.

Push-ups are great, if you could only do a single exercise that is the one I'd recommend. Does something for your chest (primarily) but also arms back and stomach. If you are looking to burn fat around your lats and stomach either take up running or do things like hovers and pull-ups. Pull ups are great becase you can target specific muscles in your arms depending on your grip and they work wonders on your lats too.

Get a pull up bar so you can work biceps and back, do different pushups and dips to work triceps and chest, bicycle cruches or something for abs, squats to work your legs.

Or get a gym membership

The way you eat is as important as the work out...
Push ups would only get your upper body fit but you could keep gaining if you don't eat the right way or if you don't work for the rest of you body.
The good think is you could do Set ups everyday... it's not like most of the other muscles of the body. Do set ups & do cardio if you really wanna slim down.
Again... you need the right diet to either gain, hold or lose weight so be aware of that too 'cuz at the end of the day working out is never enough if you don't do this the right way.

It depends on what you're eating. If you want to be ripped it's not gonna happen without a strict diet, hard work and dedication. Those are the 3 key elements (the most important is your diet), stick to them religiously and you'll make it.

But I love Cheesecake :(

Get rid of it lol, and no soda as Inno mentioned, even 500ml can fuck with your metabolism. Water is your savior.

I get the feeling you're not serious with this. If you are though, I can help.

Gaining muscle = gaining weight

Only way to gain weight is to eat more food. Working out turns the extra weight into muscle but basically if you dont eat more you cant gain muscle.

Thats a really simplified way of looking at it btw, its more complex than that but basically you have to eat more to gain.
