What is the appeal of rhyming bars just to make as many words you can think of rhyme. I know Slaughterhouse have songs where they don't do this but in general what is the appeal of this? doesn't it get boring to you or do you really feel it's somethin you can keep playing alot?

Punchline rap is funny and cool. Rap is not all about being emotional.

Its called being clever and creative. They don't just rhyme bars; they make clever references, puns, punchlines, metaphors, and similes. I despise gangsta rap for being just content, and repetitive content at that.

No 1 said it was. There's street rap/gangster rap, political/conscious rap, melody rap, poetic rap, party rap, trap rap, animated rap. But when you just rappin bars to make as many words as you can think of to rhyme like with out direction, concept, theme what is the appeal and enjoyment in listening to that and where is the creativity in just rappin as many bars as you can think of to make them rhyme?

Read previous comment. That's not what Slaughterhouse does. Have you even listened to a fucking Slaughterhouse song?

Then how could you POSSIBLY think that ALL they do is rhyme bars? And once again (since you didn't read or missed it, which is fine):

It depends what I feel like listening to to be completely honest with you. There's times where I want to listen to people like Tech N9ne and Slaughterhouse just rip a beat to shreds and not really pay attention to how much sense the vocals make. It's just something that sounds good, the technical side of it is cool, and you can kind of just zone out to the vibe of it and it doesn't matter.

There are other times where I'd much rather listen to a rapper paint a picture with words, or tell a story, or talk about their past, whatever. It all depends on what mood I'm in for what my musical preferences are.
