How many of you are "successful"?

Postby Kathy » May 15th, '13, 18:01

Do you consider yourself to be a success and a valuable member of society? Or do you just kind of get along and survive, maybe working minimum wage and have no real promising prospects in life.

For instance, I see myself as successful. I have a good job (will make 6 figures by 30 if not sooner), I volunteer in my community, I'm financially stable, have my own apartment, and I have built a pretty good investment portfolio. All self made btw, haven't received a dime from my parents since I was 14.

I see my cousin as a failure. He works 20 hours a week making $9 an hour, he's 25, and he spends all his money on beer and lives with 5 roommates. And this isn't all about money btw, I know poor people who are very valuable to the world and make a big difference in other people's lives.

TrShady is just great. A place where pompousus blowhards can connect with other pompousus blowhards, and form a vast circle jerk of pomposity.

If what you say is true, than what is it that you do for a living?

Anyway I'm only 18 atm, and busy setting up the first things for a own business.

I work in the creative industry, advertising and PR and whatnot. I also self published a technical help manual for a computer program that sells online for $9.99. The program is really niche and there are no other guides like mine that are as comprehensive, I sold over 2,000 of them (PDF) last year and that will hopefully continue to grow.

And good for you, entrepreneurs make the world go round :)
What kind of business?

A post count of 4443 screams out success.

But naw, I go to uni and volunteer occasionally. I'd say I'm an alright citizen, wouldn't consider myself successful yet.

To be determined, since I'm still in university. I'm the first person in my family to ever go to university and get scholarships. I feel like that's a success, but I wouldn't consider myself successful yet.
