Stick to the topic this is not about wether Em is a gangster, wether he is not or what he is period. This is about the quality of the features mentioned from the lyrics to the hooks to the flow to the delivery to the energy. Strictly based on the quality musically everything else is irrlevant. Keeping in mind Eminem actually caught a case and was on probation for pistol whipping a night club bouncer and for gun posession in 2000. Something many so called gangster rappers have not even caught a case for. So even that argument people saying is irrelevant based on this fact.

Just because you can't relate to coming from a place like Detroit doesn't mean you can't appreciate the quality of the lyrics, flow, hooks, energy. The way Relapse was crafted and delivered was amazing. The production was fucking fantastic, he rapped way better than shitty gangster era Em and his imagery was crazy good. My god. I appreciate when ANY artist who raps about their life. I can't relate to coming from Detroit. I appreciate all of the things you listed. There's a reason why I like Yelawolf. I love his accent, his flow, his references and urban slang. They all feel natural, and I feel like every time I listen to him I'm absorbing in part of his culture in music form. It's fantastic. Tupac is one of my favourite artists. I love street material. When its REAL. What Em was doing was that he was PRETENDING to be a gangster as a defense mechanism against Ja Rule and his little posse of shitlords. Eminem once said that "He never once said he was a gangster". One year later, he pretended to become one.

The one thing I despise above all else is posers. Em's gangster shit sucked because it DIDN'T FIT HIM. He is a wacky, comedic, dark, and CREATIVE rapper. He doesn't rap about popping shit and shooting people. I liked serial killer type Em because it was UNIQUE, REALISTIC, CREATIVE, and most of all, IT DIDN'T FEEL FORCED AT ALL. It felt natural, like something Em chose to do while being sober.
