I do tend to spell/say 'spelt' instead of 'spelled', though. It sounds more natural.

It's not wrong at all. English originated from the British. You can go to anywhere in the UK today and spell "favorite" and they won't say it's wrong, they'll just call you a lazy American.

On topic though, I'd have to say 2010 as well. Each year was sprinkled with great releases, but 2010 felt like that's when all these monstrous albums were released and was just huge.
