Shady Records Collab Album?

Postby TonyTilt » Jun 21st, '13, 19:07

I feel like I remember hearing sometime last year that it was a possibility? I personally think it would blow the current rap game away.

Would really love seeing something like this. After Em's album drops, of course.

Yeah I know, Strange Music does it, MMG does it, Shady 2.0 needs to show how it's really done.

I was always in with this idea of Shady 2.0 Album. It'd be great year for the label. This Album would dominate the game like hell.

Hopefully Em's next is a Shady 2.0 LP(After his 2013 solo).

It sounds promising, but anything from Shady Records always sucks for some reason.

The problem with label albums is that they're all pretty average, the Self Made series probably being the exception.

That said, I'd still like to see this.

Yeah, that's for certain, although I did like the Re-Up.

People talked about it a lot on here, but I'm not sure there was every any kind of strong indication that it was even being considered from any of the artists.

Yelawolf said there hadn't been any talks of a Shady 2.0 album; he said everyone was busy working on their own stuff, but that he would be down to do it. Unless I missed something, I think this was one of those things that people started talking about so much on here that they thought it might actually happen for some reason. It would be cool enough, I guess, but I don't think there would be anything mind-blowing on it.

Yelawolf is definitely more of an "album artist". His songs are good, but they seem to be better when appreciated as parts of an overall theme that he's creating. Eminem and Slaughterhouse could do individual songs just fine, but I'm not sure we'd get anything all that great or creative. We would likely get some songs that are good for a handful of frantically enthusiastic listening sessions, that would later be relegated to a pile of other tracks that will mostly be used as filler for our respective playlists.

Or, maybe it would just be fantastic. Who knows? I wouldn't mind another cypher-style song with everyone on it, personally.

I was listening to 2.0 Boys and that's what made me make this thread. Another would be great.
