Really like Recovery tbh

Think it's a great album. The punchlines do get ridiculous at some points, of course. But overall I love it :y:

I didn't really like Ridaz on my first listen, so I didn't really listen to it again for a long time but when I heard it again recently, I'd say its fucking amazing tbh.

Very reminiscent of TES. I hope he raps like this some on his next album.

I agree man. The part when he goes like "Aaahh! You hit like a bitch! You scratch me with your nails. For that, you catch an open hand slap like a female! Like bahh!" Is probably one of my favorite parts on Recovery.
If this is what R2 was going to sound like then damn.. We missed out big time.

I did say that, and here's why. The bad songs on Recovery are better than they are on Encore, I think most of us can agree on that. However, I can deal with the Encore songs because I believe he was either drugged up and/or bored (not that is some sort of revelation), whereas on Recovery, he has no excuse for the corniness of his lines. He was sober and thinking clearly on Recovery and put out the majority of the worst lines of his career, and whats worse is that he wrote verses where those terrible lines were supposed to be the highlite of the verse. I definitely cringe when I listen to some of those lines, whereas on Encore I just shake my head and laugh.

So maybe I overstated that the lows were lower on Recovery, but I can listen to Encore without feeling like I saw someone getting kicked in the balls.

You do realize that Em had to fucking learn how to rap again, right? And after people shitted on Relapse, he had to BUILD HIS ENTIRE RAP STYLE back up again.

He didn't just have to learn how to rap again, he had to learn how to do everything again. I am aware of that. However, Relapse was incredible, and that was done BEFORE RECOVERY. He didn't have verses framed around corny punchlines on Relapse. Recovery was unlike anything he had tried before, and it failed as far as I am concerned (not the public, as it was obviously very popular). I can't listen to most of those songs anymore. He's an incredibly skilled and witty rapper, my vote for greatest of all time, but Recovery is more Lil Wayne than it is Eminem. It seems like his goal on Recovery was to make as many puns and punchlines as possible, and it was difficult for an old school em fan like myself to enjoy.

With that being said, I do like a lot of his newer material. I loved BME and his Welcome to Our House verse for example, so don't think I'm one of those guys that hates the new Eminem. I just can't enjoy the experiment that was Recovery

Oh, Recovery. I didnt like it at all when it released. Holly shit, after Not Afraid, which i hate very much, i got the whole album and what did i hear? Intro of CWB. "Oh my fucking god, Em. I see what you did there" that was my thought. I will be honest - the only songs that i liked from the first listen were - On Fire, WTP, So Bad, Untitled Ridaz, Session One. The others, i was like "what the fuck is this? what are this beats about? what does this flow means? Eminem, i see that you came up with some dope concepts, but what's the matter with the whole sound?". Recovery sucks big cock if we are talking about production. And i bet that this awful, shitty beats are reasons of his corny lines, corny flows. But compare Encore to Recovery? No. Encore was some natural piece of shit and thats a fact.

I'm one of the few who prefers BME Eminem over Recovery Eminem, actually. He's just a lot better and his punchlines are less corny. I like Recovery though it's just over time its easy to begin to enjoy Relapse over it.

Now with that being said, when you say the lows on Encore are lower than the ones on Recovery I couldn't disagree more.
