dead prez wrote:Bit late on that BB tip, I like the show a lot and think it's great actually but I find it hella flawed as well. I dunno, the first two seasons were the best but after that it's like the show didn't know where to go with it's plot and just let certain events happen without a care.

As for Walt I always felt his development and detoriation into Heisenberg happened way too quick, him confronting Tuco was still to early and he should developed more before just jumping into his hideout and threatening a drug lord like that. The S2 was just beyond contrived and a bombastic way of saying that Walt's actions have consequences. It was cool and all but not really logical, it was one of the biggest asspulls in TV history.

Pullled your quote in here.

Yeah, as it went on it gradually became less realistic (it was hard to take the android-esque cousins seriously). You look back at that time in the RV in the desrt :flutter:

However, the acting has improved over the seasons--the acting for Hank, Jesse and Gus are right up there with Walt by the end of it. Bryan Cranston the GOAT though.

I don't even care about being less realistic, as the show is very Tarantinoish and over the top as opposed to a super realistic show like The Wire. It was cool having Walt blow up the Tuco's hideout and I like it like that, but internal plausibility started to make me? Like you said the cousins were wooden as hell and felt cliche, what the hell are two professional hitman doing attacking a cop in broad daylight (and yeah I know it's not a contract or anything but still very amateurish mistakes).

I feel like people search for way too many problems, and don't just enjoy anything.

The only praise I hear about The Wire is how realistic it is, lol. Is it a good show apart from that?

@Spyder, I think Class is the only one who doesn't really enjoy the show. I'm sure EmInsider, dead prez etc enjoy it tremendously. They're just not biased and say it how it is. They aren't in denial about the show having any flaws (however insignificant you may think these flaws are).

What's the point if there isn't a bit of critical discussion?

I'm still on the first season and it's not an easy show to digest, it also at times feels like a documentary more than an actual show but it is good. And loll the show is one of the most lauded of all time.

I know lol. But then when people actually dissect it, it's just "SO REALISTIC!".

Don't get me wrong, executing realism definitely deserves praise.

Realism isn't in and of itself a good thing though, and people who praise it solely for that don't even know what makes it so great. It's more like Watchmen (the comic not the shitty bloated movie) in how tightly bound it is and how everything is interconnected and rereading/rewatching is highly rewarding as you have the hindsight to compare and contrast certain events.

Fuck so many damn shows to watch now. Lucky I've finally caught up to Breaking Bad.

I actually think executing realism is a good thing (not GOAT worthy though).

I think the show is alright, there are just a lot of things that I dislike about it. I think shows like Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead and early Dexter are all much better.

I wasn't implying you were biased or anything lol.

I was just meaning that critique =/= dislike, and these guys probably love the show (but I knew you weren't actually a huge fan so didn't wanna lump you in).

Anyone seen or heard about Suits?

My friend really enjoys it but I take his recommendations (perhaps unfairly) with a pinch of salt. Need a second opinion.

I think Walt should tell Hank that he saved his life.
Canning: What will it say on your tombstone?
Charlie Sheen: Something dot com.

Lol my complaint with walking dead is that it's hardly about zombies anymore... Last season there were episodes where u actually saw a few zombies at most. Everything else was people arguing/soap opera bs
Don't get me wrong, I still love the show, but BrBa is way better imo.
Same goes with dexter, Soa, the wire . Great show but I prefer BrBa.
What I like about game of thrones is all the unexpected deaths. The Red wedding was nuts lol
