Terrible episode, terrible season. This was once a great show about a serial killer balancing humanity with his "dark passenger", but now it's a teen drama reminiscent of True Blood or some such show. Of course, those teen dramas may not be bad, but they're not Dexter.

For starters, a psychopathic sociopath cannot suddenly develop emotional connections, or empathy for that matter. We're talking about a serial killer that contemplated murdering his sister over orange juice a few seasons ago; a serial killer that didn't really shake much when his wife was murdered, etc. Secondly, the plot has become stale and predictable. I know the show has never been a page turner as far as twists go, but come on, the doctors son? Dear...

You're missing the whole point of this season. He's not a psychopath. He was molded to think he was one. And Dex WAS shaken up when his wife was murdered. Did you even watch 5x01? He went ballistic on some random in a bathroom; caved his head in. Jesus fucking Christ. He was shaken up. The whole theme of Season 5 was Dex redeeming himself for letting Rita die. You're also missing the whole theme of Season 8. Legacy and family. Of course the Brain Surgeon is going to be Vogel's son. The season is mirroring Season 1. TBS is Dex's spiritual brother, just as Brian was Dex's real brother. I've read spoilers. Just let the season play out, damn it. We're only 75% of the way through. We have another quarter to go.

You can hate the show all you want, but don't spout fucking ignorant comments about it.
