Can't say it's undeserved, Kendrick has had Hip-Hop in his palm this year and it doesn't look like he's letting his grip slip away any time soon what with that "Control" verse and its tremendous reception.

the hip hop community and BET turned on macklemore after he blew up because

1)he went mainstream with 2 songs that sounded mainstream - gives the wrong impression
2)they find him corny and preachy or they think he's another "feel-good" rapper
3)he doesn't look like your typical rapper neither does he rap like them, because he..
4)..he made an incredibly catchy anti-conspicuous consumption song
5)his post-Thrift Shop fanbase is retarded therefore he's became labelled as "cac music"

Маck is nowhere near my fave type of a rapper but I can't say he's not Hip-hop... he definitely is & it doesn't matter he's kinda of different 'cuz he's spitting. As a matter a fact them dudes kinda lifted Hip-hop 'cuz did all that on themselves. They didn't follow someone else's formula & didn't have any kinda machine behind them too... not to mention they came from a non Hip-hop region which last plat rap album came more than 15 years ago.
