I'm a recent Eminem fan, so I think the anticipation for MMLP2 is the peak of my Stannery.

Well I started out young, I've been an Eminem fan since I was 8. I guess my "peak" moment as a Stan would have to be at the Anger Management 3 tour. It was 2005 and I was 12. I went there dressed in all Shady Limited gear and my hair bleached blonde. When Eminem came out I rapped along with him every single word to every song and all the older early twenties kids were looking at me in amazement. Made me feel like I accomplished something.
CALLED IT!

Mine was definitely around Encore .. my brother got me into Eminem around 2002 but since I didn't really understand english that well I only kinda liked the sound of some songs .. but around Encore it really took off... I thought it was the greatest album ever lol

I'm finally starting to realize how young a lot of you guys on here are, or how recent of fans you are. Probably why Relapse gets defended so much on here. I do feel special being old enough to really understand and comprehend what it was like when Eminem blew up. I was 17 when Slim Shady LP came out, and though I definitely am not a stan anymore, I once was. Probably 2002 when Eminem Show came out. I was 20, he had just put out 3 classics in a row, I mean he was the greatest thing in the history of the world.

I'm 17 now.. that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't say Relapse get defended because nobody on this forum hates it :D

I'm just saying....

But I feel interesting on here with youngsters. You know your stuff probably on Eminem, mot anyone on here obviously follows him closely. But there's a certain thing your era didn't experience as an Eminem fan that my era did. When Slim Shady LP came out, you were probably like 3-4 years old. I was your age when it did. It was like nothing anyone had ever seen, and the roll he was on in 2000 when MMLP came out, it's impossible to think he can do it again.

It was truly a music experience to witness and understand or comprehend Eminem blowing up the way he did.

As soon I heard My Name Is on the radio, I thought wow this guy is incredible, so I looked him up the net the next day as Slim Shady cause at that time I didn't know he was Marshall or Eminem, and since then I've always been a big Stan.
Usually stupid of you for you to think I'm your friend.

During TES. I was too young when My name is came out (I guess I was 12 or 14 dunno...anymore) to actually get what he was saying in English and I got really into it when TES dropped (I was 16 then).

btw I'm pretty far from being a Stan now, Eminem was a gateway to bigger and better rappers but I still have to respect him for introducing me to hip hop.

I actually an a regional manager for Rack Room Shoes, the Southwest region. All the regionals get time off after back to school, I'm back at work next week, so I'll have less down time. I'm a young 30 man.

I get it, because in case you didn't know I'm also the biggest Britney stan in the entire planet (Yes Eminem AND Britney) and she got me into dancing. Up until 2004 Britney was the definition of a pop star, no one could've even touched her. Nowadays Britney doesn't give a shit anymore and all these other pop singers like Katy Perry and Rihanna and Lady Gaga are there and "their too young to have experienced Britney when Britney happened"- fans think their the epitome of a pop star. They ain't. When Britney was big there was NO ONE else. Beyonce is one lucky girl that Britney doesn't give a shit any longer about putting on a great show (despite the fact that Bey sings live most of the time, I give her that!).

Hope you got the analogy.

No, because the JB hype is really just a hype that fades - whereas with Em the hype only grew bigger the more records he put out up until Encore and even Encore was huge and it's fucking Encore. Think about it this way: there is a reason the man hides from the public eye.

It was the same with NSYNC. I HATED that shit, HATED IT. But I hear from my girlfriend, who manages a claires, that these girls all call this One Direction group the modern day NSYNC. FUCK THAT NOISE. No pop boy band will ever be what they were. I could literally walk up to anyone on the street, say BYE BYE BYE and they'll know right away what I'm talking about.
