There are a few rappers that are considered GOAT .. but none of them is better than one of the other ghosts .. everybody has his strengths .. Em is probably the most technical one while 2pac is one of the most influental

It's tricky actually... his skills are undeniable but Interscope's choice & some of his own at times have made people doubt him. He's got too many outta this world records & some weak ones of course... I don't think he's overrated at all overall.

Yes and no. His new stuff is over rated like crazy. I hear people say Relapse is a classic and Recovery is good and I shake my head. But on the flip side people forget how fantastic his early material was. No matter how terrible his career was afterwards his first three albums will forever be a landmark of top quality hip hop.

Numbers don't lie he is the biggest thing in rap history is an icon with a legendary movie based on his life. He's rated perfectly. The greatest most successful rapper of all time. If he came out and said it no one could really dispute it but he's humble and knows music is subjective

Fuck no. Look at fuckin' Jay-Z, he's been dropping trash for almost 10 years. And people still think he's #1 today lmao. Far from it. Eminem is still rhyming his ass off, you guys may not like the music, but he doesn't have TRULY bad verses like you might get from a Jay or Kanye verse. Like really, not even Throw It Up or Numb are THAT bad if you fuckin' go on the radio and listen to the trash that's being played. There are people who think Wiz is better than Em, come on son! He's underrated these days, maybe was overrated back then but today he is one of the best still doing it.

He's so huge that it's cooler to hate him, so people say things like "he has 1 good album" or everything post-mmlp is abysmal and he sold out with 'TES' lmao.

Also doesn't get nearly enough credit for his technical brilliance even post-Encore.

People mention some rappers in the same circle as him technically which are just laughably... not even fucking close. Hip-hop fans love to pretend they hate Em, but history will sort it all out.

Plus Berzerk was him fucking around and he's still rhyming better than many many mainstream rappers. Nas might be the only one who can match Em in the mainstream rapper department. Truth be told. Kendrick is very close to it as well.

If you look at a lot of Kendrick's lyrics on paper, they look terrible. It's how he puts it all together and spits it which makes it sound special... which is a talent in itself, I value flow and delivery a lot.

Nas is a good lyricist but highly overrated, he never had the aristry or personality of an Eminem.

I wouldn't say Nas is even... close, lyrically-speaking; his smooth-ass flow and well made hip-hop gives an illusion of him being a lot greater than he is. And I'm a Nas fan, but seriously, as a lyricist, he's hardly revolutionary; pretty standard, sometimes poetic but... not all that noteworthy lines and ideas. Kendrick is far more interesting, artistically, than Nas.
