I know I just joined but I wanted to give everyone an insight on my thoughts about Eminem and how he has changed over the years.
First Four Albums:
I began listening to Eminem during the Marshall Mathers LP era when 'the real slim shady' came out and that song was amazing and made me into a 'stan'. I also loved The Eminem Show and went to my first Eminem concert and also got (high as fuck) for the first time, haha. I then was super excited to get Encore and was disappointed in how songs like 'big weenie', 'ass like that', and 'just lose it' became part of his album, but it was still a decent album compared to all the garbage that was out at the time. This made me go and buy the Slim Shady LP and was amazed at how much Eminem had changed throughout the years.
Relapse, Recovery, MMLP2:
After a long wait Relapse is announced and 'We Made You' comes out, I was soooo disappointed. I listened to the entire album after I bought it and I hated his accent, but his lyrics still amazed me (I loved the 3am video). Recovery comes out and I find out that Eminem has decided to do a song with pop stars like Rihanna and I was pissed. I'm a girl but I loved Eminem because he was that rapper who didn't give a fuck about what other people did and he used to diss every pop star. He also did a song with Lil Wayne which saddened me. The album was ok ( he lost the accent) but he lost respect from me as a fan for doing songs with pop stars like Rihanna and artists like Lil Wayne.
A few years pass and Eminem announces the MMLP2, WOW! My favorite album from him of all-time. I expected the first single to be a dark don't give a fuck eminem but what we got was Berzerk. It's not a bad song, I like it more than 'Not Afraid' but it fell short of my expectations.
I still have high hopes for Eminem and look forward to the MMLP2 but Eminem better get back to that king of hip hop who made classic hits like 'Beautiful', 'going through changes,' "Till I Collapse," etc.
Thanks for reading!!!
