Your opinion of Recovery at first, and now?

Postby The Batman » Sep 6th, '13, 23:45

Now that ive got your attention,

what were your initial opinions of Recovery and what track has made you 180 the most?

I didnt like Cold WInd BLows and On Fire that much but more i listne, i appreciate ems wordplay a whole lot, those songs have gotten better whilst initial favourites have gotten less play (going through changes)

Songs ive completely changed my opinion on (for the better)

Cold Wind BLows
On Fire (man im so fucking sick ive got ambulances pulling me over  )
Almost Famous (em goes hard)

Ive started to like the poppy songs a lot less now (LTWYL, WTP, YNO)

you guys?

EDIT: or for the hell of it, ANY em track that you didnt feel at first but after a couple/hundred listens, you start feeling it?

Who Knew, Im Back, Half of TES flew over my head but now im feeling that shit!

I am currently studying for a Master's degree in Computer Science at NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Man, Norway is such a great place to live.
Norway, blah, blah, murder, blah, blah, blood.

I discovered every Em's album at the same time, so at first I was like "Wow, that's his best album !"
Then I realized how perfect the MMLP is, how powerful TES is, how classic SSLP is, and how underrated Relapse is. But I still think that Recovery shits on Encore.

I like listening to Recovery regularly, there's some great stuff on it, like CWB, Almost Famous, GTC, Seduction, So bad, Space Bound .. But it's clearly not his best piece of work ever imo.

I liked it, and still like it. But it has not aged very well. He still raps very well, it's just the production, it sucked.

For me it was always one of his worst albums but that never kept me from enjoying it. I loved every song when it came out and after hundreds of listens I stopped listening to Not Afraid, LTWYL, YNO, T2M, WBD. At first my favorite tracks were 25 To Life, On Fire, Space Bound but now GTC, Untitled and Cinderella Man.

Hated Seduction and So Bad when it came out, now I don't listen to them much but they are alright.

I loved Recovery when it came out. Now I barely listen to it (with the exception of Seduction, Space Bound, On Fire, GTC, Ridaz and Session One)

CWB got me excited as hell, like OMG OLD EM *jizz jizz jizz* then by the time i got to No Love, i was like, fuck this... picked it up 6 months later, loved it as a whole, but then got bored of it really quick. still a solid album though. Space Bound ftw.
"It aint over till i say it's over, enough when i say enough" - seriously though em, enough is enough, quit your shouting.
