From what I can tell he's being himself more than he's been for a long time. He doesn't seem like he's on the sleeping pills, at least...he was pausing and hesitating a bit but it was nothing like his BET appearance in 2006. And at the beginning he made it clear that he was joking, he just instantly snapped out of that druggy stare he had. So right now, I doubt it, he's just being awkward I think, which is always fun. Wait for a few more interviews to decide that, if he starts looking like that in most of his public appearances then I think there's cause to be worried.

It's always possible he's gone back to something other than the sleeping pills.

Not to mention how loud everything in the background was. It would have been even louder, there. He played the "where am I?" look at the start, but after that he just seemed distracted by the noise. He kept playing with the headset and stuff. It was just a combo of being uncomfortable on live TV and distractions around him imo.
