Eminem releases a song titled "My Darling"
He states on the song: "But Dre, all Shady is a bottle of hair bleach and vodka"
For the remainder of 2009-2012 Eminem stayed with his regular brown hair.
During an interview with Complex, Eminem explained why he stopped dying his hair:
"Once I got sober I was like, ‘What the fuck am I doing? I’m like thirty-five years old, am I going to keep dying my hair fucking blonde?’ Also it was just about letting go. The hair reminded me of my addiction, and I hated myself when I was in my addiction. I hated myself worse than anyone could ever hate me."
Three years later, Eminem returns with the famous blonde 'do:
On September 7, 2013, during a short interview with Kerk Herbstreit and Brent Musburger, Eminem stated about the album, "it's kind of a revisit to the first Marshall Mathers LP".
On The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem commonly referred to himself as Slim Shady, his crazy alter-ego with a bad temper.

All Shady is a bottle of hair bleach and vodka.
He's got the hair bleached, so it's only fair that he has indeed relapsed. Definitely not to the public, but behind the scenes. Slim Shady is not complete without the drug use.
