He wanted to try something different and pulled it off with Relapse,a great album.

Making studio albums is not the only option. Why doesn't he go host some battles, or participate in some himself? Break free from Paul and Aftermath for a bit and get down into the underground for a bit. I'm sure that would satisfy him.

That's a great point & I totally agree. Em is totally Paul's puppet and will do whatever he says.
For instance, a year or so ago I read this girl's story about meeting Em on the INAD set (there's a picture of her with Em floating around somewhere). She asked him for a picture & he immediately looked to Paul who nodded his head. Sounds very miniscule but it's very telling.

I thought people were crazy enough calling Relapse a classic, but Devils Night a classic??? I like it more than Relapse though, but neither of them are even remotely close to a classic level. Em has 3 classics he's been a part of in most eyes.

I wouldn't call Relapse a big success or even something that adds to his legacy. It's a solid album, but like any of his last 3 it just can't come close to matching his first 3.

He's returning because he still has hunger to spit and is still the best rapper alive. If you're a fan, you should be grateful that you're getting solid music from him at age 40 still.

Devils Night has to be one of the most underrated albums in hip hop ever since even some Eminem fans don't like it. It is a perfect lyrical dark masterpiece. And Em's verses on it are on the same level as MMLP, D12 are crazy too.
