Even if it was better(it won't be) nostalgia for the first one won't allow people to look at it as better.

For him to top MMLP, he'd have to have absolutely no faults in MMLP 2. It'd have to be completely pure and true to the original while keeping the vibe of MMLP. Whether he can do that or not is up to him. It's not impossible. It's not impossible to top SSLP, MMLP or TES. There just hasn't been a rapper able to do that yet.

Is it? The other guy mentioned Relapse was better than TES and that It tops Recovery by just a little.

What I mean by overrated is that a lot of people rate it higher than MMLP and TES, and I really can never see that. I also think he can top it and don't consider it a classic. The other 2, yes those are masterpieces but SSLP has some songs that are eh to me. I really don't think he truly discovered the potential of the Slim Shady character until MMLP ironic as that sounds.

Worst SSLP/Relapse tracks comparison:
My name is/Cum On Everybody/My Fault>>>We Made You/Crack A Bottle/Beautiful

Best SSLP/Relapse tracks comparison:
Role Model/Just Don't Give A Fuck/Rock Bottom/Brain Damage...>>>Stay Wide Awake/3 am/Deja Vu/Same Song & Dance...

Most of the songs on SSLP are better than the whole Relapse tbh. Relapse is underrated yes but SSLP is by no means overrated.

I wasn't saying overrated in comparison to Relapse. I don't think Relapse is better than SSLP. But I think a lot of people do consider it a classic and some even class it higher than MMLP/TES, which is crazy IMO. It pales in comparison to those two albums. That's the sense I meant by it being overrated at times. I didn't mean like overrated in general. If that makes sense.

superman11 wrote:There's not 1 song on Relapse that I prefer to listen to over any song on TES besides Drips. SSLP is overrated IMO, 3rd best and I think he can still best it.

And I can't even think of two songs on TES to take off the album to make it better like you did with Relapse. And there are 4 duds on Relapse IMO and a few very underwhelming tracks.

One song I would take off TES, Drips. Otherwise, that album is gold and that is 1 of the only reasons its not better than MMLP. That and 3 of my top 4 Em songs are on MMLP (Way I Am, Criminal & Stan). But the fact that you said TES beats out Recovery by just a bit is :facepalm

Haha, Relapse is so much better then TES, only the production on TES is better then Relapse, but lyrics, hooks, subject is so much better on Relapse to me...even tho TES has few songs that top Relapse by far, it also has few songs that are so week, so as an average grade I have to give it to Relapse, I was just pushing u with the Recovery thing, but, SSLP is overrated? Like really? its underrated if anything...best album lyrically by far..every song is amazing, there is not one week song like on TES, few average but most amazing Drips is so week, Say Goodbye Hollywood is average at best, lame hook and 3 decent verses, Without Me isnt so good either...I know some will maybe hate me for this but Superman aint that good either..if he released anything like that now everybody would call it whack..also When The Music Stops, week song, many many better songs from D12

PS:Im more into his dark style

I was responding to you and Kill You at the same time actually, he said he prefers Relapse. And you said that some songs on SSLP are ehh and it is not a classic, I have to disagree with that. Every song on the album is absolutely brilliant. And I understand that you think it is overrated because some people consider it the greatest, but who does really? Maybe only 1% of the fans, so it is not overrated in any way. Many people don't appreciate it enough if you ask me.

Me neither. SSLP comes close to TES though.

That's the first person I ever heard say hooks on TES are weak, especially in comparison to Relapse. Your preference is cool, thats your taste. I prefer TES type of songs to the dark stuff, and prefer it to everything on MMLP aside from Stan, TWIA & Criminal. But I won't sit here and say I think TES can top MMLP, cause I don't think it truly does.

The songs you mentioned are for sure among the weakest in comparison to the rest of the album. (I don't have the username Superman for the Em song btw, lol) But I do think Superman is fucking awesome. As a preference, I get it. But there's no shot Relapse is a better album overall than TES. Weak hooks!? That's nuts, lol.

@Cinderella Your right. Overrated maybe wasn't the best choice of words. Don't get me wrong, I love SSLP and bump a lot of songs from it regularly. But I just don't think it deserves to be up there with MMLP and TES, it's right behind those, but IMO pales in comparison to those 2. Just my opinion. It's like..

MMLP/TES
SSLP
Relapse/Recovery

There are a few songs that I don't like in TES: Drips, Say What you Say, WTMS.

But Relapse barely touches it, A album with Hello, Medicine Ball, Underground, CAB and OTS can't be better than The Eminem Show, IMO.

Exactly what I'm saying. I get a preference to darker stuff. But let's be real, it's not even close.

Even the songs mentioned fit on the album and arent really that bad, WTMS, Em kills it. Say What You Say, love the verses but hook is meh. Drips though, that ones wack.
