I agree that Em is not as good as he used to be. But he is still good. And I`m happy that he is still making music. People forget that he is an artist. He needs, like someone said, "fuel" for his music. There is no more drama in his life and we can see that in his music. With drama, he made incredible music. Without it, he makes great music.

And, this bias just shows his greatness. As soon as his music is just great, he gets bashed.

Exactly. :y:

I cannot say the same for other mainstream rappers, no mainstream rapper ever sounds as hungry on the mic as Eminem does. EVER. Period. Even his softest album, Recovery, had some harsh lyrics and rap styles.

What I do is I take the music as it comes. I love his old shit and I love his new shit. Eminem is just THAT artist for some people where his music just clicks. I never find myself really going back to his old albums (as I am doing now) and saying "wow really Eminem sucks now." I don't make a single comparison, I enjoy the music for what it is.

I agree with that part. But it's a fact most fans like his old stuff the most cause it is simply the best and it is normal to compare everything an artist does to his best stuff. As longs as you don't let comparison affect your judgement it is Ok to compare, you can enjoy the music for what it is but still say hey, that '99 album was even better. What he does now is still great, Relapse and Recovery are one of the best mainstream albums that came out in recent years and the fact that it is not his best work can't change that.

:facepalm That's not ridiculous at all, lol.

Tell me how it's not, don't fuckin' facepalm me.

Disliking something because it isn't good, is not a "ridiculous" reason, lol.

It'd only be ridiculous if you thought it was good, but disliked it because it was new. Ain't no one doing that bruv.

I see the confusion though, lol. You're implying the album is still good, just not as good as his prime albums, therefore it'd be a stupid reason to dislike it. Obviously m8. It'd be stupid to dislike TES because it's not as good as SSLP, lol. But that should go with out saying. People dislike Recovery because it isn't in the same stratosphere as his first three i.e. it's not a good album.

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah At the end of the day, it's an opinion blah blah blah blah blah blah opinion blah blah blah blah blah blah blah it's an opinion, at the end of the day blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah it's an opinion, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah opinion blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah opinion blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah it's the end of the day blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

We did understand what you were trying to get across, lol.

A past album should NEVER effect your views on a future album. FACT.
I agree. Obvious point is obvious. No one disagreed with that, lol. I even pointed out that no one seems to do that, for example, people praise Deja Vu. However, I can see how it may possibly happen.
I'm not tryin to be rude, but I sincerely wanna fuck the taste out of your mouth

As long as there is an equivalent reduction in variance, I'm OK with a little bias.

I agree with everything you said.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

Kill you, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you here on some points you made. For example, it is inevitable that people will compare his new material to his first three albums. He just set the bar way too high for those comparisons not to happen, naw mean? Also, I'm not expecting a reenactment of the MMLP, that's just impossible. He will never have that passion and anger anymore no matter how hard he tries. Life right now is too good for him.

All he needs to do for this album is stick to one flow and voice per song and not switch it up every couple of lines like he did on Berzerk. That's what ruined it the most for me tbh.

Bands and artists usually peak by their third or fourth album at the latest and everything after that is just a decline.

People run out of things to say, they lose their passion, they get on drugs, they get bored, they start to hate the people in their band. Whatever the reason is for them falling off, it happens.

Em has held on pretty well. Hopefully this new album will be good, if not, oh well, he's made a lot of music.

But if you know that an artist's first few albums are their best efforts, why continue comparing...doesn't make sense.

I listen to his old stuff and think, "Wow, this dude was in a world of his own and dominated". I listen to his stuff now and think, "Wow, this dude's been in it 15 years and still shits on 95% of the people I hear".

Em's highs now are phenomenal. "Almost Famous", "Going Through Changes", "Same Song & Dance"...wow. Listen to his verse on LTWYL II and find me a rapper that injects that much passion in his vocals...15 years in the game. Guy always gives an honest effort and when he gets it right, you better move the fuck out of the way as he gnaws that mic off.

I don't think he's AS consistently precise in his lyricism as he was TEN plus years ago, but he's always experimenting and lately he's been really sharp.
