Maybe people are raggin' on you because you're being a little bitch over the matter. Food for thought.

It's not exactly fair that his opinion isn't taken as open-minded as other people's opinions, so it's fair for him to be a "little bitch".

No doubt Proof brought his A game on that track. His verse felt much more intense than Em's, so I'll give him the MVP on this particular song.

Neither are classics. But both are 100x better than the compromised shitstorm of schizophrenic confusion that was Recovery.

Take this for example. The guy passes this off as "fact" and it's his opinion......yet no one calls him out on it.....why.....because it's the norm on here to think Relapse shits on Recovery. If this statement was the other way around, peope would be complaining saying he's trying to say his opinion is fact, but nope not when it's the norm on here.

So what is it on here???

I gave you a peace offering, and you shat on it. So I'm going to shit on you, hypocrite. Me passing it off as fact? No. It is not undeniable fact. It is a GIVEN that it is my opinion.

But fuck, I forgot that you're an idiot.

4Corners wrote:Ems work on the album is superb, but the album is not a classic.

Straight from you. Oh, you didn't add "I think" to it, so are you stating it as a fact? Fucking hypocrite.

It's a damn shame EmBase isn't here right now. Then again, I really don't think you're worth his time.

I was bumpin the whole record last night & was thinking the exact same thing. It's in my top 5 verses off DN for sure. Violence, violence...

Snake, you're so full of shit. I was saying how when one person does it, if it goes against the norm, they get called out.

You or anyone else with the norm here, if they do it, then it's fine and no one calls them out.

Double standard man.

Liking Recovery over Relapse isn't the norm here. And guess what? Nobody called them out on it.

Im just going to chip in here. I too have noticed the overall bias toward Relapse. So too the attacking of people going against the norm.

I couldn't stand listening to Relapse when it came out, it was vomit in my ears. I stopped listening to all Eminem music because of it. It was literally unbearable. A track isn't purely made up of lyrics (which is the major factor in trshadys love of this album), his delivery accent was putrid (anyone remember how much hate came from this?), the beats were uninspiring and hooks forgettable. When Recovery comes out and he has dropped the accent, and in my opinion better beats and hooks the whole album sounded better. Lyrically may not have been up there but at least it didnt feel like my speakers were stabbing my ears.

People have different factors into what makes them like music. For me delivery, hook, beat and lyrics are equal. If a song has the greatest verse of all time but crap hook and beat then i simple will not like the song. 3am is a perfect example. It is my most skipped Eminem song. In fact I usually skip the whole album.. oh and i forgot to add: IMHO :smoking:

We (well, I) don't attack people who go against the norm. I argue with people who disagree with ME. Because, well, this is a fucking forum. To quote my favourite TV villain: THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE DO!

All I hear is exaggerated melodrama in this. Seriously. The Gucci x Marilyn Manson track was unbearable. Relapse wasn't.

Well aware of that. When it comes to Eminem, though, that's a major factor. Not to mention that most of the hooks were done well and fit with the song (SS & D is a good example) and the beats were top notch.
his delivery accent was putrid (anyone remember how much hate came from this?),

Yes, because idiots were being biased little shits who picked apart anything different from their established sense of "Eminem-like", and the accent was immediately nitpicked to death. Same with the Recovery yelling. It makes sense on a lot of tracks, honestly. What I question is the necessity of those tracks on the album.
the beats were uninspiring and hooks forgettable.

I'm not even going to answer this one.

You're not telling me you thought No Love had a good hook/beat(in comparison to anything on Relapse)? Lyrically it sounded like actual cheese being grated and being blasted into my ear, before being sprinkled with bits of corn.
People have different factors into what makes them like music. For me delivery, hook, beat and lyrics are equal.

Is that so? Encore must be a gem, then. Some great hooks, fantastic beats. 2/3, yeah?
If a song has the greatest verse of all time but crap hook and beat then i simple will not like the song.

Then I honestly don't think rap is for you. Ever read the book "How to Rap"? Notice how it's not split into beats, hooks, and lyrics. Lyrics are EVERYTHING in rap. What you say and how you deliver it (and I mean phrasing, not flow and voice).

In any case, welcome to the forum.

LOL @ Snake. Wow you punctuated a point there didn't you. I bagged relapse and you had a fit. I provided my opinion so you went and had your merry way with it nitpicking at everything i said. You said you dont attack people who go against the norm yet what have you done to me?

You can't tell me that rap isnt for me. I've been listening to it since the mid 90's. Just because I listen to rap for a different reason to you doesn't mean its wrong, however I am allowed to do this so your opinion on that is completely wrong.
