Because one person brought up Tech N9ne and you're acting like it's a forum wide attack and then defending him as if his argument holds any merit whatsoever.

two different meanings but same result

Comment on Kendrick being technical without having to rhyme every syllable (even though he's a good rhymer)

Kendrick's verse starts at 3:26

Not everyone has to focus on rhyming. Kendrick is very careful with his word choice and almost every word is picked for a reason. He uses similar sounds and his delivery to what rhyming does (construct the flow) without actually rhyming. You can say Kendrick doesn't put his verses under a microscope but he absolutely does.

"Time and time I drop line for line
But only time will tell
If I ever go Columbine
And cop 30 nines and cock back and kill"

Drop, col, cop and cock are all there for a reason. They all hit on the same part of the beat, constantly hitting and reinforcing that sound over and over. Then the way he delivers it Columbine also "rhymed" with line for line. Nine also follows in with those schemes. The thing about Kendrick I'm going to keep pointing out though, is that the way he flows and delivers words, he accomplishes the same goal as rhyming. "Time will tell" and "back and kill" don't actually rhyme but in the context of the song they might as well rhyme because of how it's structured.

"See the truth is
They wanna know how close me and Dre and Snoop is
Or how the shoe fits when they choose this to be 2Pac
But truth I give two shits 'bout"

Some of my favorite Kendrick bars ever just because of how awesome it sounds. Truth is/ Snoop is/ shoe fits/ chose this/ two shits/ and you have 2Pac/ truth I. Give also continues the former scheme. By itself the rhymes aren't impressive (only two syllables) but the way he flows them is great. The way the rhymes intertwine with each other and flow through Kendrick's cadence is awesome.

"Expectations or critics hating
Shit, I just put moms on vacation
Bitch you never know my new location, it's across nations
Court cases get thrown out
So tell the motherfucking King dethrone now"

Not really anything that impressive here except for Kendrick doing what I explained earlier. Expectations/ Critics hating/ on vacation/ new location all "rhyme" the way he delivered them. You also have shit and bitch hitting on the same part of the beat creating a flow there. You also have cross nation/ court cases and get thrown out/ dethrone now.

I am ruler, I am highness
The Prince Zamunda
I am the shit like what the prune does
Black on black tint like Kinta Kunta
Black is back bitch I'm kin to coup de
Black on black crime resent the shooter
Blat, blat, blat, I intend to mute you"

Now this is what I was talking about earlier with Kendrick using alliteration. Now class, alliteration is beginning a lot of words with the same syllable. No, it's the constant repetition of the same sound. The constant hammering of bla- causes a sonically appeasing repetition of sounds that also constructs the flow. You also have impressive rhyming throughout; Prince Zamunda/ what the prune does/ Kinta Kunta/ kin to coup de/ sent the shooter/ tend to mute/

"Racks on racks, I don't rap on tracks
Without my A-game so please don't ask
Me about no pressure
Bitch see the grip of my fingertip
I can hold this coast together"

Again, for the purpose "please don't ask" rhymes with the two above sounds because of how they're both flowing over the beat the same way and how they're delivered. You also have no pressure/ coast together and see the grip/finger tip with bitch also starting the stream of "i" sounds as they're all delivered the same way and they're all hitting the beat at the same time.

tl;dr Kendrick is technically impressive without rhyming. He uses the repetition of sounds along with his flow and delivery to create the illusion of rhyming without actually rhyming. Rhyming and flow is also a chicken and egg situation because the flow is creating the rhymes as the rhymes are creating the flow.

It is becoming a forum wide attack. That's part of the reason I said it. Every time Tech N9ne's name get mentioned people freak out and bash him as heavily as possible. But the funniest part is that even when his name ISN'T mentioned people find a way to turn a point not about him into bashing Tech N9ne.

Also, if you paid attention, you would see that I did in fact disagree with him. I'm not defending him, I'm defending the nature of a fair argument and saying we should avoid just taking cheap shots at something he likes when it isn't even relevant to his original post. As he already stated.

All I said in "defending" him was that I understood what he was saying. I disagreed but understood what he was saying. Something that may be unfamiliar to you since everything you disagree with is usually labeled as "stupid".

Speaking of maintaining integrity of arguments...I like how you summed up my entire post by labeling it all as "rambling" and then proceeded to insist it had nothing to do with what you said. Despite me never specifying that you said anything.

The funniest part of everything is that the concept of my whole post revolved around asking people to disagree and argue in fair, normal, and relevant ways....and you thought the whole thing was about you...and proceeded to call it all "rambling". Thank you for supporting my statement.

I couldn't ask for a better way to conclude this.

False. You weren't defending his argument, you were defending his right to that argument as if it was substantiated at all. Also, saying all of that for only snakey would be kind of stupid so I assumed you were probably talking about me as well. Lastly, if Elision is going to trash something good but praise something terrible obviously that's going to get brought up in other threads.

Nah, Kenny doesn't need to respond to irrelevant rappers. He'd be doing them a favour by responding.
