I see people saying they'd rather have SH instead of Rihanna...don't you realize that SH would take up at least 75% of the song time, and would probably bring that lame punchline style into the MMLP2?

I'd rather have a conceptual track called "The Monster" with Rihanna singing on the chorus than that.

Nothing implies that it'll be poppy. It's on an MMLP album where the other track titles look dark as hell.

He's not gonna throw some club song on it.

The only reason he called the album MMLP2 was to get more sales. I thought this was already established. It's actually Recovery 2 in disguise.

If he wanted to do MMLP2 he would've done it in 2003, or when he came back from hiatus.

Wait wait wait...

People on this forum actually think Kendrick is a bad rapper?

I mean opinions are opinions, but what the fuuuck.

personally, he has his moments. but honestly his delivery is whack as fuck most of the time. hopefully he doesn't bring that awkward shit to the album and instead let loose like his "Control" verse or "Compton."

Wow, I hope we'll laugh at those bashing posts once the album is out
I really can't understand ALL the hate. Of course you can have things you didn't like on the tracklist, but common
Let's wait untill we actually hear the album
Besides, the tracklist seems awesome to me, a lot of badasses names are there
If the problems are the features... Damn, they might add something to the song, who knows
And Survival is dope, btw

It does, but what matters is how it sounds.

I mean Jesus, the least he could have done was add a Public Service Announcement 2013 at the beginning. Did he even TRY to make a proper sequel? This is such a blatant money grab it's saddening.

Manly Moose wrote:If the rest of the album sounds anything like the two singles it will be Recovery 2 and it will be bad. It will have its fans but that will not last, these 'made for radio' generic uninspired BS albums that only feed off of current trends age horribly. Cant judge until I hear the actual album but the features and track titles seem to point to the album being like what I just described instead of an actual Eminem album. If he did an 80s throwback album, that could be cool, but Survival throws that option out the window and calling the album MMLP2 makes anything that ISNT a complete return to original form a horrible disappointment.

Im fine with Em branching out, Survival however is the musical equivalent of a "hang in there" poster and is in no way branching out. Also again, if you call the album MMLP2 you might actually want to have some inspired material.

You heard 2 songs and you are calling it "uninspired material" lol. "If the rest of the album sounds like the two singles it will be Recovery 2" Does Berzerk sound anything like Recovery to you? With a Kendrick feature, songs like Bad Guy, Asshole, Rap God, Brainless and Evil Twin. Yeah. Sounds like Recovery 2.

Skylar Grey's hooks aren't poppy. I Need A Doctor, Our House and Rescue Me hardly scream bubble gum pop to me.
You look at 2 features...and it's Recovery 2.

Berzerk and W.T.P are interchangable content wise with Berzerk being slightly different by having a small bit mocking rappers that dumb their shit down (which is ironic considering hes rewriting W.T.P) . Yes the production of both the singles do remind me of Recovery its the same dry mix with sparse quasi rock arrangements, the synths arent as prominent so I guess thats a plus. YES I did call both Survival and Berzerk uninspired, hes repeating himself in a very unimaginative way.

Yes, I dont know if the album will suck or not, I havent heard it, but titles like Rap God, Bad Guy and Asshole, are not encouraging. Skylar Grey's hooks are melodramatic AND poppy; the two tones do not mix very well and sound incredibly corny to anyone that isnt completely absorbed in whatever the rapper is talking about. (Basically anyone who isnt a fanboy).

Frankly if Survival did not exist I would not be so bold in declaring that MMLP2 will probably be Recovery 2. 80's throwbacks can be fun, but again, the album title makes the whole thing seem aimless.

On the whole two features thing, yes two pointless features makes a huge difference. A good album isnt supposed to have throwaways, Rhianna will just deliver another Skylar Grey type hook (Which I established I usually dont like) or worse, bring something from her solo career into the mix, which has NO POTENTIAL for anything but pointless filler which degrades the album all for a little extra cushioning on first week sales. Em doesnt need to worry about sales, he automatically goes Platinum at this point, if he wanted to just be an artist he could be, Im sure some will like the features, and I might too, but right now I'm extremely skeptical.

Also, Ems track record for releasing good material has been shit lately and I listen to an album thats full of tracks like the first two singles I will probably fall asleep 20 minutes in. If these tracks are your kinda thing good for you. If the rest of the album is great, good for all of us.
