Eminem - MMLP2 (tracklist)

My prediction is Eminem will try to emulate MMLP but will mostly come off as Recovery era Em to the listeners and even if the album is really solid or on par with Recovery, the critics will have a field day with it because of: what "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" seemingly promises and: what we get.

The songs with pop features need to deliver big time to redeem themselves on an album which is supposed to be the sequel/revisit to the original MMLP.

Don't like the fact that Kendrick Lamar is on there, probably a label move, but since people like him so much, it's alright I guess and hopefully Eminem murks the kid..

Also, don't forget, the Activision press release explicitly stated there's an exclusive studio track on the COD edition in addition to Survival, plus probably 2/3 iTunes Deluxe Edition tracks. They might also release a physical deluxe edition as well, who knows..

Great thing to wake up to on a Friday morning. My input below for any Stanley's who care

POSITIVES;

- Kendrick feature on there
- We get one skit
- The songs with no features sound dope
- We've finally got a tracklist
- That Nate Ruess feature could be interesting

NEGATIVES;

- THREE female singer features on a 'throwback' MMLP album (I like the way Liz hasn't been listed as a feature)
- Rihanna and Skylar on there are just repetitive and boring (songs could be dope doe)
- No Royce, 50 or Dre (I wanted at least for nostalgia feeling)
- One rapper to feature compared to around 10 (?) on the first MMLP
- No PSA intro, Steve skit or Paul skit
-Survival on there

Overall the traclist looks pretty solid, but the main problem Stans have is that a lot things on here go against the theme of MMLP. Why not call it something else? We'll just have to wait for the album now to judge it. That Rihanna feature is just tired though. Why not try and collab with someone else and keep it fresh?

There was a lot of Eminem rapping on Recovery but due to the production and the hooks... it didn't feel like he owned the album. Felt like he just took part in it.

The more Eminem and less others the better, Kendrick is dope af, didn't excpect it tbh. I wanted it, but didn't think it would happen... but "Survival", Skylar, Rihanna and the track titles are all really disappointing elements right now. We'll see.

As others have said, Survival doesn't say it features Liz, which strongly suggests it's one of the previous versions of the song he recorded. Hope it is, anyway.

As for Rihanna and Skylar... we'll see.

Em said it's "a revisit to the first MMLP". Berzerk and Survival sound nothing like that and sonically Survival sounds very similar to Recovery.

The type of collabs has changed big time. From Dre, Snoop, Xzibit, D12, Dido, Dina Rae, Sticky Fingaz and RBX, to Rihanna, Skylar Grey, Kendrick and the lead singer from Fun.

I just hope the blonde hair and album name aren't just big marketing ploys because if this album doesn't do it's name justice then Em will have lost a lot of credibility.

His biggest mistake was shitting himself about releasing Relapse 2 and starting to do Rihanna, Pink, Bruno Mars and Lil Wayne collabs.
