Opinions on You're Never Over?

Postby drdre2028 » Oct 20th, '13, 08:55

This song just gives me the chills. When I listen to this song I'm grieving Proof. Lyrically it's not the best, the beats aren't even special but boy is it powerful. The raw pain in it hurts me every time I listen to it. Does anyone else get this? i can't work out what it is.
Because, I forgot the chorus
But that's okay cause y'all saying bust a rhyme for us

It's a shame that song is plagued with a bad beat and corny ass Em lines.

Some lines are really strong and powerful, but the song has too my cringe worthy parts to be listenable.

"Trying to process this loss is making me nauseous
But this depression ain't taking me hostage
I've been patiently watching this game pacing these hallways
You had faith in me always
Proof you knew I'd come out of this slump rise from these ashes
Come right back on they asses and go Mike Tyson on these bastards
And I'm a show em blow em out the water slaughter em homes
I'm a own so many belts the only place they can hit me is below em
Homie I know I'm never gonna be the same without you
I never would've came in this game I'm going insane without you
Matter of fact it was just the other night had another dream about you
You told me to get up I got up I spread my wings and I flew
You gave me a reason to fight I was on my way to see you
You told me nah Doody you're not laying on that table I knew
I was gonna make it soon as you said think of Hailie I knew
There wasn't no way that I was gonna ever leave them babies and Proof
Not many are lucky enough to have a guardian angel like you
Lord I'm so thankful, please don't think that I don't feel grateful, I do
Just grant me the strength that I need for one more day to get through
So homie this is your song I dedicate this to you"

^ That's all pretty legit, but you have to deal with shit like this.

"Just finish the rhyme and bust it excuse this corny metaphor
But they'll never ketchup to all this energy that I've mustard"

just Blaze and me we are knocking on doors and no we
Ain't pumpkins on Halloween but we'll show up on your porch so be

To leave their jaws on the floors with no re
Morse remember that when they get to dogging you boy homie
So ya all can just get to blogging about bologna I'm not gonna stop the saga continues
No stopping the force Obi

And the beat and the chorus. Bluh
It's the body bag game bitch I'm supplying coffins

Raw song, honest song, touching song. But Em's vocal performance on the hook is horrendous.

The worst song he has ever done. Lyrics might be fine as a whole, but apart from that it's garbage...

It's mostly corny. Prefered Difficult to be honest.
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

Has powerful lyrics, Jimmy summed it up best. It's plagued by a very bad beat, corny lines, as well as Em singing shitty when we know Em can actually sing much better than that. I like this better than songs like Like Toy Soldiers though, That shit is the worst thing I've personally ever heard.

This song gets unwarranted hate imo. I very much like the song and was moved on my first listen. The chorus comes off as real honest. Could have been better but still a fairly solid song.

FunFact: Andy Murray likes this song.
They say the good die young... Proof, YOU'RE NEVER OVER.

Love the song for the most part. Chorus use to make me cringe though, one of his worst attempts at singing imo

The hook is the most annoying part of the song, but still prefer it over Difficult, that track should have never leaked.
