NZ rapper David Dallas who'll perform at the NZ show:

Dallas says being hand-picked by Eminem to perform at Rapture is a "massive deal".

"When you start out you're trying to impress other rappers," he said on Firstline this morning.

"I wasn't even trying to make good songs when I started out, I just wanted to be good at rapping and Eminem was always… the epitome of that."

Rapture could be the biggest hip-hop concert New Zealand has ever seen. At 41 Eminem may not be the cultural force he once was, but his enduring popularity all but ensures a good crowd should turn out.

"I think it's going to be big, 'cause I think he's got generations of fans now," says Dallas.

"There's people like myself who have been listening to him for 15 years who have been waiting to see him, so I think it's going to be a big deal."

The controversial Detroit rapper's still able to generate a headline though – most recently with his new single 'Rap God', which has been criticised by some reviewers as homophobic.

Dallas says there are number of things in Eminem's lyrics that could be construed as offensive, but says it usually isn't meant to be malicious.
"I guess it just depends on how seriously you take it… like on a song like 'Kim' where he talks about killing his ex-wife, that's offensive. He'll talk about, you know, just numerous other things that could be construed as offensive.

"But I think it's if you think that there's malice in his lyrics, and I very rarely do. You know, it's more an exercise in technicality when he does it."
Eminem's new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is out in November. Tickets to Rapture go on sale on October 31.

So basically all tickets are seated except for the "Lose Yourself" zone? I only go into the mosh hectically at festivals when I'm smashed, depending on the setup if I'm sober I prefer not to be deep in there especially if my girlfriend is with me.

Man...I think I'll buy a ticket and go from there. If it ends up being too expensive I'll sell them.

As for why he doesn't tour the states....I mean he clearly doesn't like leaving Detroit much and when he does maybe he would rather see other parts of the world? I dunno, makes sense to me.

those VIP packages sound awesome, Im so jealous. I guess we'll never get anything like that here in the states.
Even if he did tour here I doubt they would offer those same VIP packages. I really wonder why he doesnt do just a cpl shows here n there even if he has to space them out to deal with it? I know he did the Home & Home thing a few yrs ago but that was just 2 shows. I wonder if they would charge as much here for tickets considering most people here probably couldnt afford even the cheapest seats, maybe thats why they're not bothering... lol
I would have loved to see Bliss N Eso open for them, in fact I think Yela opened for BnE when he was there. I like 360 and Hilltop Hoods but BnE are my favorites from Oz.

Just bought mine. Lose Yourself Zone (moshpit) just like in 2011. I hope he performs a very different setlist than last time.

This is the setlist from 2011.

Did you make that? Where did you get it from?

I haven't got tickets yet. I dunno what will end up happening...I definitely want to go. for Kendrick too. Just too broke right now! I don't know that any of the packages are worth it either.

The setlist was released by the guys who performed with Em that day.

I just noticed that the during buying my ticket, they were offering pre-orders of MMLP2 Cd and Digital to add to the basket. Now imagine 40k crowd every stadium for 5 stadiums. That is 200k.

If 200k people buy the album as well as the tickets that is big sum to add to first week sales.

Now, if you do few more tours. Let us assume 3 tours, then that is 200k x 3 = 600k. Just from concert attendees.

For anyone who is going to the Melb/Etihad Concert. Get your tickets now. I didn't realise tickets aren't meant to go on sale until the 31st if you haven't registered for the presale, But I was able to buy tickets today. So get in before it's sold out fellas and ladies. :)

I'm too poor for the lose yourself zone considering travel/accommodation. Anyone here been to Etihad for a gig before? If so is the red standing zone pretty decent? Looking to get those tickets as they are considerably cheaper.
