What many don`t understand in tune with the popular question now topic turned misconception is that The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is supposed to be a revisitation and reintroduction to the original era of Eminem when he peaked at the top of the rap game surrounded by the elements that defined the eminent Eminem, this album is actually supposed to symbolize that now in a new age of rap and personify as well as personalize Marshall Mathers as the man he is today, new vision, new life, wised up and off drugs its personal which could logically and hypothetically explain the new-found and out of ordinary changes or switches within that of the confines of his music.

Lines like -

I`m not a rapper, I`m an adapter, I can adjust!

Survival - Eminem

Oh, he's too mainstream
Well, that's what they do when they get jealous, they confuse it
It's not hip hop, it's pop, cause I found a hella way to fuse it

Rap God - Eminem

Indicate this but unfortunately it doesn`t in a consistent way or method explain or justify anymore, The Marshall Mathers LP was a very personal album that was utilized to showcase Eminem`s problems and his inner soul as the man Marshall Mathers the real person personalized behind the fame, and etc... It was his darkest album, I had high hopes for this album as Berzerk grew on me fast because I learned to appreciate and educate myself on the purpose of the content, message and placement within hip-hop, Survival lacked coherency in regards to having to be worthy of being listed on a MMLP2 album.... It`s a great track but it`s problem is not being Recovery-`esque but rather less Marshall Mathers LP esque, Eminem could of made that track grittier and more meaningful to the state of warfare in relation to real life time today and there`s plenty of references or topics he could of spun or woven into the lyrics without having to worry about losing his personal immersive experience while rapping it also it would of been more credible and beneficial if he had Sly sing the chorus instead of Liz. Rap God was strong but misconceived and misunderstood because of the beat and hook, they were underwhelming (I myself don`t mind the beat but I rather prefer something similar to the realms of E.S Posthumus or something cinematically sinister) but the lyrical quality is undeniable. This song is great as a pop song and mainstream magnet but it doesn`t congratulate or convey true hip-hop, the hook itself is catchy and likable, the beat is interesting and Eminem`s verses while pretty good don`t quite live up to the hype of what we were indicated or promised. I think the song would of worked better if it had Amy Lee (Evanescence) or Adele on the hook with his production, it wouldn`t have been an all-time seller but it would of still impacted more powerfully and the message would of been stronger while strengthening the composition of position with the MMLP2.

It boils or sums up to this basically...

The song is a great alternative rap song/pop

Catchy and nicely suited hook

Great flow and verses

Neat and understandable meaning

7.8/10

On the realistic and more blunt side of things...

Not Eminem or MMLP2 standard

Wasted potential

Overuse of Rihanna

Eminem`s flow was choppy and less coincidental with the beat itself

The song will disrupt the sonic credibility of the entire album itself

Lowers expectations

5/10

It's a radio song. Nothing really wrong with it, just not my taste. Don't mind it though.

I'm sorry, did you just ... did you just cite Just Lose It as a positive?

No....I was listing the first 4 singles/songs we heard from Encore.

Just Lose It sucks, but the other three are pretty good an dare superior to anything he's released from this shit other than Rap God, which is far far overrated now it seems. I like Rap God but it gets overrated now because of the other horse shit around it.

It's ok HorseDick, you can accept this horse shit, I won't.

He's out of touch. I'm starting to think the theory that the real Eminem died is for real.

What...do...you...MEAN?!

I'm sorry. I can't fricken stand this. I guarantee you are one of the people literally exploding at the release of Rap God and here you are saying he is out of touch based on one pop record made to sell units with Rihanna and with a single cuss word for gods sake. Just think.

I firmly believe anyone on here will praise anything new Em releases. Can't wait till this song is torn to shreds like his other stuff was a year later.

This song is fucking whack.

I just don't think Em knows what good production is anymore, and I don't think he understands when he's dope and when he's not. He doesn't seem to understand what people want to hear.

He can't seem to grasp flowing naturally or smoothly anymore.

If I hear the leak and it's this level....I'll do just what I did with MCHG, I'll download it but I'm not buying it. It would the first Em release I don't buy, but fuck it. If it's as shitty as MCHG was, basically rapping for the sake of rapping, and this level shit, I won't waste 15-20 dollars on it.

Oh, is that why all you whiny bastards are shitting on this song right now? Yeah, everyone here is totally on Em's dick. You sure figured us out, buddy. :flutter:

Yeah really.

And don't even get me started right here. Like I said before, you say he doesn't know good production, that he doesn't know what people want, that he doesn't know how to flow. Yet I'd hate to think you're response to Rap God was ANYWHERE near this.

I can't decide whether I like it. On first listen (right now) I hate the beat, it's obnoxious. His flow is interesting, it's nice to hear him rapping slower, as well. But I was over it after about thirty seconds. Rihanna's voice actually seems to fit it well. I do like the lyrics.
