Forget YMCB, this new track is straight up on some miley cyrus-flo rida-bubblegum pop-sounding shit. Not even Drake has ever put out something like this. It make me cringe just listening to it. I can tolerate the verses, but the chorus and production are god awful. Eminem wouldn't have gone anywhere near this years back. And to think this is on an album titled "Marshall Mathers LP 2"
As for the verses themselves,, baiscally this is more confirmation of what I expected and kinda feared - Em rapping like he's done in his recent features - choppy / start & go / changing up his voice. It worked fine in Rap God since it was a song basically about rapping. On a 'normal' song like this, it's more tolerable rather then essential. It's something that I may just have to get used to.
Anyway my hype just hit the bucket for the album , 4 tracks and none of them are truly great songs. Rap God comes close but not quite. Bezerk scores points for originally but the content holds it back. Survival is a meh Recovery throwaway. Monster is god-damn horrendous.
I'm a little disapointed in Em. I've never been a prima donna whiner like some people around here who seem to bitch about everything, but I just can't defend this track. I understand there's gonna be some radio friendly content, but this is beyond the pale for me. Em's lost it man.
