Monster is embarassingly bad

Rap God makes it clear Em's in great space... I said many times I expected one or two songs like Monster so I'm not bothered at all what the album is gonna sound like 'cuz most of it is gonna be hard.

I doubt it's gonna be ''hard.'' It will be more or less like Recovery with choppier and faster flows.

Only the singles will be kinda like the ones on Recovery... Berzerk & Rap God are miles away from that & I expect most of the other songs to be that far too.

To be fair, ''Monster'' is a good song to listen to if you only listen to the beat and maybe hook. But it's not a good song for Eminem. Understand the difference. It's only good for a non Em pop song.

Yea, I just feel like Eminem is teasing us with his Album cover, epic looking titles. Look at Monster, it's just a pop song. Therefore I think Asshole, So Far, Headlights, So much better and Legendary are all going to be very Reovery-ish.

Like I said many times... Yeah it's not bad at all if look at it quality wise, it's the style that bothers most of us on this forum or most Em/Hip-Hop core fans in general. Business is way more complicated than that nowadays though so we're not the only people who should be satisfied when artists as big as Eminem drop an official album. There are all those buyers who love Eminem 'cuz of Not Afraid & LTWYL or ones who'd buy a catchy song they hear on the radio... & all those people matter too.

The OP is completely right and seeing the people defending Eminem is laughable. They're the first to hate on rappers that dabble in pop excessively, but the first to defend this garbage because of the name attached to it. This is seriously the most poppy "rap" song I've ever heard. People comparing this to the feelings people had when The Eminem Show came out.... lol. Get the fuck outta here.

How do the lyrics even matter in a song that has a hook and beat like that? Stop making excuses. He doesn't even say anything new in the verses. But because his rhymes aren't as bad as the rest of this song, he gets a pass.

You seriously can say with a straight face "how do lyrics even matter with a hook like that?" Excuse me?? The hook is a beautifully dark melody. Celebrating the culmination of a journey that started with Encore, almost killed him before Relapse, and allowed him to come back and try a new take on life as Eminem.

I assume you havent had a rough day in your life, if you had you would appreciate the song a little more. Eminem has been through child abuse, being poor in a dysfunctional relationship with a daughter he didnt know how to feed, to blowing up and having every word and action condemned by the public to almost dying from years of drug addiction to pulling himself out of all of that. And being able to just take a breath and be alive after all that is a miracle.

You cant understand that, you will see that as "justifying my like of the song" when it really is just you not appreciating the song for what it is and what it means to Eminem. If you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree youre going to think it sucks. Well if you try to judge this song without keeping in mind everything this artist "Eminem" has put out and been through the last 20 years youre going to think it sucks. In both cases youre an idiot.
